The Perfect Nataraja, a perfect life

In the darkness of the night
the earth trembles
with the resounding drum
a sound that creates
the vibrations of life
the air that swirls

the purity imbibed

and the feet descend to earth
into a circle of fire
that silhouettes this form of the Lord.

Locked into metal is an energy so strong that one can barely imagine the potency of the Lord. A common name, Shiva, but a form so enigmatic and unknown that the more we dwell into His realm the more lost we feel. Such is the enigma that surrounds Lord Shiva. To feel His presence in the self is a moment of enlightenment well lived for.

Within this wall of fire He dances creating the rhythm of life, creating the essence of existance and clearing the clouds of illusion that shade our eyes.
Tirobhava - A ring of fire He lights up to kill the darkness of ignorance.
Samhara - A ring of fire He ignites to burn the self into His being.

Sthiti - A ring of fire He presents to preserve the soul.

Shrishti - A ring of fire that dances to the sound of creation.
Anugraha - A ring of fire that raises us from the misery of living.

It is a flame within, a tiny flame, a potent flame that can set the stage of life alight with Lord Nataraja, the King of dance. He has vigor in his movements and yet a calm in His eyes. He opens His third eye to burn the soul yet His hand rises in abhaya giving us reassurance. The flamboyance of His silent energy just makes the yajnopavita and the rudraksha sway to His gentle moves, to His enchanting presense. He has gentleness and warmth that can make the heart melt when one sets eyes on this form of the Lord. Locked in stone or metal, He shines with all His grace. Coated with dust on the outside but clarity of the being rules supreme. Gentle and tame on the outside but a brilliant flame of life engulfs us from within reminding us of His constant presence.

Such a perfect being, such beautiful imagery that has been painted, sculpted, drawn, sung about, written about and yet He is so difficult to come into our
reality. Such perfection that is forever there to stay. Such bliss that the mind rests even in trouble. Such sweetness that the world appears beautiful. Such brilliance that we can see beauty in life and appreciate it if only we make ourselves open to it.

Perfection is so undefined, yet we see it in Him, perfection is so unreachable yet faith in Him lends us that satisfaction. Perfection so unnoticed that He
sets us the examples to true and effective living. Perfection so unheard of that we need His presence to comfort us. Perfection is so unreal that we need Him to guide us into the unfamiliar world beyond this life.

Our life breath is a rhytm, one that we are never aware of, one that he creates with his damaru when we are born, our life is a saga, one that He preserves while we live these million births, our ego is our own enemy, one that He destroys and raises us into a new world merged within Himself, our path to heaven is through fire, a life that He destroys to bring us face to face with reality, our mind a whirlpool of ignorance, one that he smashes with His feet and lifts our helpless souls into His warmth.

There is so much more to Nataraja, there is so much more to Shiva, there is so much more to perfect living and no time to explore it. We are part of a man made rat race to higher living with assumed perfections that no one has defined or has a clue of. And all we have to guide us into that promised realm is a hint of the Lord locked into a silent dust coated metal sculpture out on display, the life of which is within us, unknown and untapped.

There is an ‘ancient’ saying by some poet, to the effect, that one’s mind can reach where even sunlight cannot.

It implies that apparently one can do it but mightn’t do so depending upon circumstances and happenings apparently beyond one’s control.

Based on general experience it also was concluded by the ‘wise’ that during an average normal person’s childhood, because one isn’t physically and mentally mature enough, one cannot properly analyse the intricacies of life, although he might have a highly advanced natural capacity to oberve ‘Nature’ and get 100%, or nearly 100%, marks by reproducing it verbatim in exams…

And, in youth and even later also in middle age, one might have become physically mature, and although one’s mental state also might also be alright, yet unless one has had sufficient all round experience and also proper ‘inclination of mind’, one might not find any attraction in the search for the ‘Absolute Truth’ or God and the various ‘truths’ believably created by Him, called ‘Maya’ or illusion that in fact are ‘untruths’ as the apparent findings of ‘wise ancients’ that work as guidelines for the interested souls…

The name Shiva being opposite of Visha the poison, and life being found symbolic, might perhaps be hint enough for a seeker to realize Supreme Soul, or formless being, as immortal or unending as believed…and therefore surrender – instead of seeking Him in ‘imperfect’, temporary or transient forms…

A 'shayar', that is, an Urdu language poet also concluded to the effect that everyone who has suffered becomes a poet!

Thus apparent 'suffering' in human form has been indicated as one of the important ingredients of one being channeled towards God, just as it gets reflected in the life-history of Lord Rama even!

Hi Joshi Uncle,

A nice little analogy for Shiva being the opposite of Visha or poison. Is this your discovery or was it meant to be this way?

In order to be mature in old age, one needs to practice from youth so that the sudden abundance of time post retirement is accounted for and people feel "worthwhile" in their old age. I believe very strongly that spiritualism if practiced religiously in youth saves a lot of heart ache in old age.

Kavitha, as I said earlier elsewhere also, I was virtually invited by Ma Kamakhya to seek Her in the early eighties! The Gita then apparently acted as my primary source of research.
Benu once asked me how I was able to solve her trigonometry questions even when I had been then out of touch for almost 30 yaers. I had replied to her that the questions themselves lead me to the solution, because I had got interested in the subject at the school stage itself and had enjoyed solving those! Geography and History were two subjects that scared me the most!
At some stage Visha, meaning poison apparently made me review Vishnu, where ‘anu’ means atom, as a ‘poisonous atom’, that is, ‘Nirakar Nadbindu’ the infinite point source of energy conveyed as the symbol of death that then apparently went on to create the physical universe, and also Trimurty Shiva, to achieve immortality in physical forms also…as reflected by composite Earth, supported by the members of the solar system – all immortals themselves, while they individually reflected hierarchy within the system…performing ‘specialist functins’ as part of a grand design. My focus is however on seeking out His purpose in this unending system that reflects grand variety…

‘Human Body, is the garment of the soul’, is the essence of the Gita. And thus one could perhaps reach the conclusion that all physical forms appear different depending on the energy component that goes into the formation and sustenance of any apparent particular physical form’s exterior.

And, Hindu mythology indicates that Yogis realized the total energy allotted to all forms, or ‘souls’, as the same. However, energy availabke to one at a particular time is rationed – it being distributed and locked up in different bandhas…the control of which lies in the hands of the Creator through different ‘agents’ or His Own images, who perhaps appear to act according to some overall design, but unaware of it…

And, it i indicated that if some soul has an inclination, it is apparently led to the various ‘truths’ from their known IDs, or their ‘garments’…but, one may still not reach the’Absolute Truth’ - for Supreme Soul doesn’t have a garment, as it gets reflected through artists from time to time!

However, it is the mindset of the human race as a whole - as a part of the design related with time – that governs human behaviour. For example, the image of Ma Kali didn’t disturb ‘born Hindus’ for ages. However when, apparently towards the end of Kaliyuga, a character that goes by the name of MF Hussain, although as per ‘wise ancients’ himself as one of the images of the same God, drew similarly the sketch of ‘Sita’, the present day characters got disturbed and agitated, for it believably reflected the characteristic property of Kaliyuga and associated beginning of churning that produced ‘cream’ only by the end of Satyuga – and only Visha the poison in the beginning!

Obviously the poison also needs to be consumed by the different images of Shiva Himself, who unfortunately ‘naturally’ have different capacities to neutralize it depending on one’s faith in the Supreme Soul, that is, Shiva.

And, as per the Gita, a ‘true devotee’ is expected to remain unmoved irrespective of the apparent behaviour of the external world – through training of the mind!

Another important hint in the Gita, for realization of ‘Shiva’ the Supreme form of ‘Krishna’, can be seen from the stress given on need to see God’s eyes, i.e., ‘Divya Chakshu’. In dwaperyuga, the stage of 50% achievement of ‘truth’, Arjun apparently received ‘enlightenment’ because he was a friend of Krishna the Guru and advisor of Pandavas who, without Arjun’s knowledge, had always apparently been attached to him – the secret revealed to him only in the battlefield when he was in a confused state of mind as he was supposed to fight his own blood relations!

In the apparent ‘present’ that in fact is the 'remote past', with the ‘scientific knowledge’ that the 'present day' Homo sapiens all over the globe have their ‘roots' in the African continent, the reflection of similar ‘mock battles’ between ‘cousins’ can even be seen reflected in the cricket matches apparently being played ‘Down Under’ - and the apparent bad blood between the two teams due to history!

Krishna, seen through the eyes of relatively ‘wiser ancients’, is called the ‘Yogiraja’, that is, the ‘King of Yogis’, irrespective of time and spatial location of human beings, majority of whom in the ‘present’ apparently could be seen through the eyes of the enlightened souls as ‘living in ‘fool’s paradise’, which also gets reflected in the Gita, and generally expressed by Hindus as ‘Creator’s Yogamaya’, or simply as ‘Maya’ that is illusion due to imperfect physical senses as part of the grand design…

In the ‘present’, ‘scientists’ apparently have realized only the human brain as an ‘instrument’, a ‘remarkable muscle computer’ that has unlimited capacity, vis-à-vis the ‘wise ancients’ who realized all physical forms to be Super computers used by the Creator for recording data related to the design and execution of the infinite universe, or/ rather petaining to self in each form and thus innumerable copies of it is apparently avilable at any time!

When a mere word can take an individual through a whole recorded film-like journey withn the mind, similarly 'dancing Natraj' can inspire a soul to realize the Absolute Truth!

"Buddhiman ko ishara kafi hota hai!" So said the wise, meaning that to a wise a mere hint might suffice!

JC said...

Kavitha, Essentially, the ‘wise ancient Hindus’ reportedly realized that they themselves - like all innumerable physical forms in the universe - were ‘illusory characters’ or imperfect images of a perfect Formless Being who itself is a mere dot of energy that exists alone!

But, itself being related with zero time and space it was called the unborn and the unending. And that it is believably He who is reviewing His creation in reverse order of apparent time – from Satyuga - at the end of which He had apparently attained perfection - to the stage when He was absolutely imperfect at the beginning of Kaliyuga – which apparently happens to be almost the period that is given to understand as the ‘present’!

With the above background belief, can we see to what extent we can appreciate the apparent scenario based on similar apparent phenomenon in the believable human life?

Perhaps it goes without saying how ‘Indian’ infants, even in remote villages, immediately after their birth are now apparently straightaway getting exposed to the ‘noisy’ and ‘flashy’ programmes on TV in 100 channels that all are competing with each other, trapped in the rat race for high ‘TRP Ratings’ with participation of Bollywood stars, that have a relatively low shelf life now…and, obviously, it being the end of the Yuga, give high priority to news related to corruption at high levels/ stabbing/ shooting / rape / murder/ rallies of unruly crowds/ fires and so on…all reflecting ‘poisoned minds’, which to a ‘Hindu’, therefore is ‘déjà vu’…

JC said...

Only ‘silver lining to the dark cloud’ is the unbelevable information to the majority that it is a story of the ‘illusory past’, a recorded History of the one and only Formless Supreme soul that exists in the cinema-hall-like dark space projected by it within the infinite void - perhaps to see how it looks in ‘material terms’, just as its reflection ‘we the souls’, look at our own respective images in the mirrors/ photo album, from birth to the present!

I would like to cite a quote credited to Shri Ramana Maharshi that has appeared in the ‘Sacred Space’ column of ‘my’ newspaper –

In the court of Chidambaram,
Shiva, motionless by nature,
Dances in rapture for Shakti,
and She stands motionless.

Know that in Arunachala
He stands in solemnity
And She withdraws there
into His unmoving self.

It is understood by the wise that the majority does not ask questions lest it becomes known to them that they don’t know what the wise seem to know!
Therefore, it is said that if a student who didn’t know and asked questions one would appear foolish for some time only. But, if one didn’t, one remains a fool for ever!

It was for this reason that ‘Hindus’ used to get together at holy places, such as Kashi that is Varanasi, or Sangam that is Allahabad, and so on, to thrash out differences of opinions that arise because of creation of various interpretations due to existence of souls at different levels of attainment of wisdom – for all to reach at the absolute Truth’ vis-à-vis the various ‘Truths’…

There is a popular ‘western saying’, “He who knows and knows that he knows, is wise – follow him, he who knows not and knows that he knows not, is simple – teach him; he who knows not and knows not that he knows not, is a fool – shun him!”

In the ‘advanced east’, however, it was believed that it’s a matter of time, or Mahakal Shiva’s design that matters, and it is never too late and even a ‘fool’ can attain wisdom…with the help of a Guru…Kallidas is one such example…

Maybe, one would be able to notice why ‘I’ had Kalidas, the great Sanskrit poet and dramatist in my mind. Firstly, life being symbolic, his name has ‘das’, meaning servant (of Kali/ Krishna), a relationship between all knowing Master & His ignorant servant.

It is said that Kalidas was known as a mentally handicapped wood-cutter. Once, sitting on a branch of a tree, he was cutting it. A passerby cautioned him that what he was doing would result in his own fall. And, obviously soon he found himself on the ground with a thud! He ran after that man and told him he was very knowledgeable person for he could read his future!

It is popular that a scholarly princess defeated all the scholars in the kingdom in debate. To avenge their defeat, they managed to get Kalidas married to her deceptively. When she discovered the truth, Kalidas had to leave her in pursuit of knowledge.

Being a devoted worshipper of Ma Kali, he is believed to have called upon the goddess for help and was miraculously rewarded with a sudden and extraordinary gift of knowledge and wealth!

An American would perhaps recall, similarly, Abraham Lincoln’s journey ‘from the log-cabin to the White house’, or, Albert Einstein’s rise from a dim-witted child to a renowned scientist, and so on, innumerable characters all over the globe, and in different fields of activity.

However, talking of ‘miracles’, there must be present some extraordinary magnetic-force-like ‘spiritual force’ in the land inhabited by the ‘wise ancient Hindus’, that is called ‘India’ and that, as per historical records, has attracted ‘foreigners’, particularly in recent times from the ‘west’, from time to time - maybe, just as a ball thrown into the air returns to the ground, or the proverbial bird belonging to a ship has nowhere else to go but to return to it eventually. Many among those settled down in the ‘holy land’ and performed well in the ‘spiritual field’, sucha as ‘Mother Teresa’.

And some came repeatedly, attracted by the grand variety, like a museum that ‘India’ presented to a ‘foreigner’s eye’.

I came across one such travelogue, by one Bill Aitken in ‘Divining the Deccan’ (1999), who reportedly calls himself as one of the original hippies, who set off from his native Scotland on a motorbike – his search for truth kept him in this country for 40 years!

JC said...

I would like to give an extract as an example of a glimpse into the essence of Bill Aitken’s views on ‘Krishnaleela’ or ‘Creator’s drama’ as it was believably realized by the ‘advanced Hindus’ in the ‘past’ that, in fact, was understood as the ‘future’ of the ‘present’ which believably is a review of the fag-end of Kaliyuga in reverse order vis-à-vis the perfect ‘Nature’ in the background that was reached by the end of Satyuga!

“…The tangled skein of what constitutes ‘Hindu’ is best illustrated in the life of the modern saint Ramana Maharishi who amalgamated in his radiant persona a blending of Aryan and Dravidian influences. Though a model Hindu, many of his fellow Hindus complained that his benign universalism required a more pragmatic edge. Mahatma Gandhi’s followers, for example, were upset when Ramana declred the advaitic truth that is more important ‘to be’ than be a patriot. (In the photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson’s study of Sri Ramana on his deathbed there is a full-length portrait of Gandhiji in the background.)

Vir Savarkar’s Hindu Mahasabha found such shrinking from karma yoga with its non-assertion of a sovereign Hindu identity unacceptable. To the student of religion, the irony of such conflicts lies in the predominance of non-Hindu influences that determined both the attitudes of Mahatma Gandhi and the world-view that has seized the imagination of modern right-wing Hindu movements. More irony lies in the fact that the vituperative utterances of the Hindu Mahasabha drove moderate Muslims into the arms of the equally vituperative Muslim League, resulting in a religious partition which has led to the bizarre situation where more Muslims live in India than in Pakistan…”

Obviously, the ‘western characters’ - being governed by child or ‘Neelamber Krishna’ during the initial churning of the ‘Kshirsagar’ or ‘Milky Ocean’, that is, ‘Milky Way Galaxy that has a Black Hole (Krishna) housed in its centre’ in the beginning or Kaliyuga (‘Dark Age’) - cannot be expected to reflect/ realize the subsequent achievement of ‘perfection’ by ‘Peetamber Krishna’, that is moon, as a part of earth itself that is ‘Shiva’, earth-moon-mars, the trio being understood as representing in essence the evolved ‘Trimurty Shiva’ by the end of satyuga only by ‘Hindus’, thus called because of ‘Indu’ the moon – beyond ‘western historians’ to realize the ‘Truth’ apparently revealed to 'Yogis', the perfect working models or images of God from time to time as part of a grand design!

As I had cited once earlier also, once while I was going in a two wheeler (that reminds me of Lord Vishnu’s vehicle Garuda now - but grounded in Kaliyuga!) with my wife, we were shocked when a young boy suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle, for he was chasing a kite that had got disconnected from its flier. I ‘luckily’ managed to stop the vehicle in time without hitting the boy, and proceeded further on our way thereafter.

Based on her observation of 'normal human behaviour', my wife asked me why I hadn’t slapped the boy, for due to his carelessness we could have got involved in a serious accident! I told her that he had presented before me my own video film of my childhood days, as in my own childhood I too had flown kites and chased them foolishly or blindly – due to inexperience as well as my naturally clean-slate-like undeveloped brain and, therefore, 'lack of overall knowledge' (as I came to ralise only after I had read the Gita!)...

JC said...

Here is another reaction to an article in 'my' newspaper...

‘The molestation prism’, by Shri Santosh Desai, attracted ‘my’ attention because of the graphical representation - the scary left-hand palm by ‘Neelabh’ the ‘blue tint’ (?). (Vide toi 14/1)

“Hari anant/ Hari katha ananta”, explains the mental attitude of a ‘Hindu’ the believer - through ‘thought, action and speech’ - in one Formless God, the Nirakar Nadbindu…

The left hand palm shows one-half of earth’s hemi-sphere. Lines on the palm - read properly by a palmist or a yogi - can indicate the likely behaviour of the concerned due to external influences reflected through the essences of selected members of the solar system vis-à-vis the lines on the right-hand palm that represents the other hemi-sphere, or the one that determines one's 'natural inclination'.

Speaking in mundane terms, I am sorry to have relatively ‘inferior journalists’ today - in the ‘present’ that, in fact, fortunately, is the ‘remote past’ of the Formless Lord Vishnu represented by ‘Shri Nathji’ when He had just started the ‘churning’, as Neelamber Krishna’, that resulted in emergence of ‘halahal’ or ‘kalkoot’, which had poisoned the minds of humans, be they angels or demons, devta or rakshahshas! And, therefore, I am proud of my ‘ancient journalists’ who had the courage to bring forth the ‘Truths’ of the ‘Absolute Truth’ in the form of the Gita, say…(Krishna told Arjuna, the ‘expert archer’ of Dwaperyuga, that he was merely an imperfect instrument – and therefore needed ‘divya chakshu’ or Divine Eyes to realize the ‘Absolute Truth’!)"

JC said...

And, as the time was ripe, Arjuna the 'friend of Krishna' being in Dwaperyuga (human efficiency indicated by ‘wise ancients’ to range between 50 & 25%) was naturally relatively more intelligent to all humans in Kaliyuga (human efficiency ranging between 25 & 0%) - when human efficiency is the lower most – to realize our generally taken for granted planet, the believably ‘non-living earth’ that apparently is made only from earth and water, as Krishna’s ‘virat’ or ‘Supreme’ form, or Shiva the Destroyer or ‘mrityulok’ where death of all physical forms is inevitable.

It has innumerable ‘eyes’ and also ‘mouths’, as indicated in the Gita, in all directions to keep watch on all and to consume all material forms in a certain predetermined order.

JC said...

With the given background knowledge – baton-like passed on through innumerable generations – that “man is a model of the (illusory) universe”, could be interpreted to have been understood by ‘advanced Hindus’ as one single entity, or the unique physical form of the Creator, the ‘Divine Person’ who, in reality, is the unseen energy, the Formless or Bhootnath Shiva, from another saying that “man was created in the image of God” as indicated in the Bible, when ‘Bharat’ was ‘Mahabharat’…
The process of evolution of earth/ Shiva is communicated through the story of ‘churning of the milky ocean - in four stages’, and the ‘wise ancients’ also indicating Kal or Time divided into four Yugas, each consisting of long duration of time, with Shiva believed as Mahakal or the Controller of Time…

The first Yuga is called Kaliyuga, literally the ‘Dark Age’, when deadly poison had emerged, which Vishnu - literally the ‘Poisonous Atom’ - the unique point source of infinite energy or ‘Nadbindu’, as also the source of poison, obviously couldn’t itself consume and therefore had to be consumed by Shiva - and consequently become Neelkantha or ‘blue throated’ - with help in the form of ‘Amrit’ coming from His consort, Parvati, another form of ‘Sati’ that is ‘Shakti’ or ‘Energy’, the original consort of Adi Shiva, the Ardhanarishwar, or Androgynous God...

In simple words it was communicated that ‘perfect’ Shiva in the beginning was ‘Ardhanarishwar’ having His abode in Kashi, that is ‘presently’ located at 83.5 degrees Longitude East – the ‘zero’ Longitude for the ‘wise Hindus’. In physical form, ‘imperfect Shiva’s’ abode is believed in Amarkantak at the same Longitude, but due South of Kashi. Whereas, after His marriage with Parvati, His abode is indicated at the same Longitude, but on Mount Kailash (now in Tibet, China, northwards of Kashi – that remains the neutral datum)…

And, apparently Bharat that is India originally was called ‘Jambudweep’ that believably was an island till the emergence of Himalayas from under the seabed in its north!

JC said...

Our friends in the media are excited about launch of the ‘poor man’s car’, Nano, in the ‘Auto-Expo’ in New Delhi this year, 2008 and their dreams apparently coming true in ‘future’. And the ‘wise ancients’, in their eventual analysis, realized the entire physical universe to be Formless Creator’s dream or thoughts – or review of ‘His Own past’, or History, by Bhootnath Shiva!
The concept of models could perhaps help a ‘seeker’ realize four-wheeler vehicles as the original forms in steel of ‘Nandi the Bull’, the vehicle of Shiva who, in human form, Himself were represented by digital iron computers in the beginning that evolved with time to become analogous – like human brain is apparently found to be!

Interestingly the metal is related with Saturn, besides it being related with blue colour – like Kartikeya’s Peacock’s colour/ Neelamber Krishna who ruled ‘west’! And still more interestingly, Shukra - with Shukrachary believably acting as Guru of Rakshahashas, the ‘mayavi characters’ - that is planet Venus is a ‘friend of Saturn’!
And Krishna is believed by ‘Hindus’ to be ‘Natkhat’ or ‘Mischievous’! As a child itself He wanted only Indu that is Moon as His plaything, although he is portrayed by the ‘journalists’ as a ‘playboy’ too in the childhood!

The Gita indicates man to remain unmoved of the apparent external physical world with firm belief of the imperfect soul in the ‘perfect’ Formless Creator or Bhootnath Shiva through any medium!

With human being realized by ‘advanced Hindus’ as an analogous computer, and human life, therefore understood to be symbolic only, Shiva’s image has a crescent of moon indicated on His forehead. Thus ‘Neelkantha Shiva’ that is ‘blue throated Shiva’ in human form is ritually represented symbolically as the model of our Blue Planet, Earth, and of course, Parvati as model of Moon, or ‘Peetamber Krishna’ who rules the human mind or ‘mun’ that can reach where even sunlight can’t! After all the ‘advanced Hindus’ apparently were advanced in Astronomy, Astology, Palmistry, and so on, also…and Shiva was thus realized as Yogeshwar, the Lord of Yogis!

In the recent times, ‘scientists’ have learnt more about the double-colour planet, Saturn - lustrous copper-metal-like red having beautiful blue coloured rings, that is the ‘sudrshan-chakra-dhari’, a physical model of Vishnu that is Nadbindu the source of 'sound energy to the ancient Hindu astronomers of the long lost past, like the non-playing captain of nine-planet team, eighth and active one being planet Jupiter, which also has rings but those aren’t as big or shining like Saturn’s…

In the early eighties or so, they had earlier observed sound being emitted by it, which was close to the mixture of chirping of birds, tinkle of bells, and beats of drums. Now, recently they have also been able to record radio waves being emitted by it, while on the other hand they have recorded also the harp-like sound being emitted by our Sun.
With the background knowledge of Saraswati Veena being related with Brahma (Sun), and the common observation of presence and use of bells in Indian temples, besides certain percussion instruments, perhaps could help visualize that ‘advaned Hindus’ also had, reached similar conclusions and for the common man’s information communicated these with the help of idols/ images etc placed inside big or small temples, or even residences, being worshipped ritually since time immemorial by Hindus, maybe without their background being known to them, having been lost in transmission over long duration of time…

JC said...

In a lighter vein, with due apology to the sensitive souls, one could perhaps say on behalf of the ‘enlightened souls’ - like a poet said about Udu poetry, that is, ‘shayari’ - that ‘Hindu Mythology is not a grass that every ass can eat’ - and digest it too!
The phenomenon is like viewing today a Hindi or regional language film and not finding fault with it!
The story of ‘Mahabharat’ communicates the need to see life through ‘Divine Eyes’, as Arjuna is reported to have done thanks to Pandava’s friend, Krishna, providing those to him in the battle field when Arjuna couldn’t bring his mind to fight against his own blood relations!
Krishna initially tried to convince him that it was mere illusion, a ‘Krishnaleela’ or a drama scripted by him with the authority delegated to him by the Formless Creator, the four-handed Vishnu who held a conch-shell in one hand; a sudershan-chakra in the second hand; a mace in the third hand; and a Lotus Flower in the fourth!

Maybe, the description of planet Saturn - presently being apparently seen through the eyes of the scientists - could help read the minds of the ‘advanced Hindus’, with the background knowledge apparently gained by the Yogis in the ‘past’, which they communicated through the story of evolution in the correct direction, in four stages, which apparently was being now reviewed by Bhootnath Shiva, the perfect being – again and again, from Satyuga to Kaliyuga, while also getting to see only partly evolution also related with the era or a part of Yuga concerned that was apparently being highlighted at given point of time!

Anonymous said...

Like their division of ‘Time cycle’ or ‘Mahayuga’ into four Yugas (1080 numbers, each of 4,320,000 years during one day in the unending life of immortal Brahma, that is, Sun) Hindus, apparently categorized the human society also in four ‘varnas’ that is ‘colours’ as seen reflected by actions performed by certain groups of souls. The souls that were apparently seen engaged in ‘research of truths’ were called ‘Brahmins’ that is literally related with the Formless Supreme Being’s ‘creative aspect’ of the remarkably wonderful variety of temporary physical forms – represented by the conch-shell in Vishnu’s hand.
Those engaged in the ‘defence’ or ‘protection’ of the temporary physical forms with a view to their sustenance for a certain varying periods of time from one form to another etc. are called ‘Kshatriyas’ that is perhaps the ones who handle ‘shastras’, that is, weapons – represented by ‘sudershan-chakra’ and also the mace in two different hands of Vishnu.
Pink lotus flower in the fourth hand of Vishnu is indicated as the seat of ‘Brahma’, which is indicative of the status of various forms, reflected through their vehicles. It is interesting to learn that even baceria uses dust particles/ water, or ‘earth’ for communting utilizing various mediums, including human form too!
Thus the Creator has apparently provided seats or pedestals - of different heights - to all souls that believably are entrapped within different physical forms! Hindus apparently believed highest pedestal given to the mysterious Moon, whose ‘golden yellow colour’ - as its essence - is believed housed, locked up in human head, in ‘sahasrara chakra or bandha’ – whose key however is available with ‘Shiva’, essence housed at ‘Ajna Chakra or bandha’, that is, His ‘Third Eye’, while the two ‘physical eyes’ represent physical forms of ‘Brahma’ and ‘Vishnu’ (Neelamber Krishna)!
