Temple of a saint - Adi Shankaracharya

It was a run, from the world familiar, a fast run away from reality as we know it. A breathless run until Srinivasan chanced upon a wall, a strange wall with a narrow door. It was a strange landscape, walls without roofs, doors leading no where, steps leading to the skies and stone as ancient as the creation of man and no sign of the creators of these strange pieces of architecture, all on top of a hill. In all the daylight it still seemed to look so meaningless and yet they were after him. Srinivasan felt relief when he saw the wall as he ran. It looked familiar but there was nothing beyond it that made any sense. Just a flight of steps leading up to the sky and a strange bell that didn't seem to call anyone to his rescue when he rang it and yet he felt he wanted to run, and get away and escape for good and go... where, he didn't know.

Srinivasan got up, awake into his familiar world, yet the images of another world hung vividly in his mind as he didn't make any sense of the place he had
just seen in his dream and yet, it was so familiar. It was close to reality, some place he had been to and had felt something drawing him so close, saving him from something he had no idea about yet felt its overpowering presence in his life.

View location of this temple - Photographed in 1911

Months passed and Srinivasan decided to go on a vacation. He had been working hard enough and deserved a break. Srinivasan stood at the hill and breathed in the fresh air. It was a perfect get away. The city was so far away from such purity and strangely wasn't it all a familiar man made world? He looked at the landscape, it was beautiful, and he wondered why he had not come to Srinagar all these days. He walked around the summit of Gopadhari hill looking at the greenery around deep down in the valley below wondering what else the Gods had blessed this earth with and why the cities were so devoid of such creation. As he drifted in his world the guide walked up to him and directed him to the temple ahead. Srinivasan gathered himself, quite forgetting he had company in this trip, company he suddenly didn't seem to want.

He walked on, coming up to a formidable wall. A wall that didn't seem to have anything around, and nothing beyond. It stood deserted lost in a realm of its own, yet an endless flight of steps seemed to lead to the skies above with a hint of stone beyond, ancient stone that belonged to another era unknown, just withered by time and belief. Srinivasan stood and gazed beyond as the bells ringing reverberated through the air. The chilling air settled in his mind as he stared up to ascend the steps to heaven. Srinivasan felt strange, not knowing what to expect. He just felt blank as he decided to see what really lay beyond. Every step up reminded Srinivasan that he had been here. The lanscape, the emptiness, the strange architecture that contradicted every book and every proven theory of art...nothing seemed to have value except this moment as he took to the steps. He touched the bell and rang it, the brass resonating the sound echoing within itself rang through his mind and senses. There was strange peace within his mind. He walked up, crossing this strange wall that housed a narrow door but led to no roof beyond but just a mammoth temple, made of ancient rock, octagonal in shape rising into the sky.

A narrow door lay ahead
holding secrets within its darkness. The main door appeared strangely similar to that he had seen within the pyramids of the Maya. Yet this kind of architecture was unknown and untapped back here. Srinivasan walked up to the main door, and looked at the world now at his feet. He was told it was the temple of Adi Shankaracharya, an ancient Shiva temple, that came to be known by this great saint's name centuries ago when he visited it and worshipped the Lord here. Adi Shankaracharya was known to have been initiated into the Shakti cult during this period.

Srinivasan entered the narrow entrance and walked through its thick walls. What lay ahead of him was a
breath taking view of the Lord. A stone linga towered in front of him, topped with floral offerings. A small chamber held more than just air and stone. Srinivasan came down on his knees, overwhelmed with the presence of the Lord in front of him. It was not just another temple, it was the world of Shankaracharya relived, the world of Lord Shiva brought alive again within his mind, the world of Shankaracharya temple waking up another soul to itself, far away and above the familiar world, one that promised experiences beyond the realm of the self, soaking the soul in the air within these chilling ancient walls experiencing the meaning of perfect life.

An ancient cult, an ancient world, ancient stone and an ancient emblem of faith still alive after so many centuries to just wake up the inner realm within the mind of Srinivasan - Shankaracharya temple, a divine outpost to the world of the Lord, meant much more than just a dream.

The ‘seeker’ at any time, ‘mansa’, ‘karma’, ‘vacha’ or in thought, action and speech, is believed to remain conscious or aware that he/ she is a mere spectator of a film - the script for which was written, directed, acted, produced, and so on, i.e., all the aspects of production and projection of it eternally was undertaken by an unborn and unending PERFECT Formless Supreme Being!

The reflection of the above is to a negligible extent, because of time, is reflected in the evolution of the ‘film industry’ – starting from mono-acting, puppetry, and so on, to evolve to ‘virtual reality’ through animation…

Saint Adi Shankaracharya, as the 'torch bearer', could thus be visualized as one of the innumerable characters in the eternal drama, or as innumerable participants in a 100 metre (100 year) baton-passing-like-race – communicating the chain-like process of evolution of the 'superior most' by elimination process of the relatively ‘weaker characters’ other than the ‘chosen one’ (Krishna who could lift Mount Goverdhan on one little finger initially) who alone could symbolically reach the summit of ‘Mount Kailash’/ Pyramid…as reflected in edifices dedicated to such personalities…in the ‘past’…

Another reaction to the editorial in my newspaper with reference to the importance of the Himalayas given by 'Hindus' or 'Indians', whether India refers to the inhabitants of the entire globe or truncated 'India', or just Kashi...the meeting place of 'saints'...

Reference the editorial, 31st Dec 2007, Least Imperfect.

‘Democracy’, the government of the people, by the people, for the people – like ‘Ramarajya’ - sounds wonderful to the ears in ‘Kaliyuga’, which unfortunately happens to be a reflection of the ‘past’ that was the beginning of the ‘evolution’ with a view to attaining ‘perfection’ by the one and only ‘Supreme Being’ the immortal ‘Divine Person’ only at the end of ‘Satyuga’ - represented by the Solar system/ composite Earth or SHIVA…

Thus, ‘imperfect man’ in the ‘present’ that is ‘past of the Creator’ can only see what he was, and how helpless he was, at the beginning stage of evolution – like a ‘soul’ symbolically represented by a debutant mountaineer finding oneself at the summit of some mound, at some relatively lower level in the Himalayas, with the goal of reaching the peak of Mount Everest some day…in over 4 billion years or so to reach 'Shiva', the immortal being, called Paramatma the Supreme Soul!

Hindu Mythology conveys the Supreme Being as related with zero time and space. Whereas ‘physical forms’ apparently occupy space and their ‘appearance’, ‘sustenance for some duration’, and ‘eventual disappearance’ within the infinite void - or upon the surface of some heavenly body - are ‘time’ related…
However, the forms that believably do not move on their own, viz. dust particles/ rock etc. are categorized as ‘non living’ by the ‘present day man’, believably the superior most ‘animal form’ out of innumerable inferior animal forms…
The fact that ‘heavenly bodies’ also grow with ‘time’, and also animate or move, and apparently perform actions, appear to have led the ‘wise ancients’ to consider Sun, Earth, etc. as ‘devtas’ or ‘selfless divine persons’ – as (inferior) images of the Formless Creator...
However, the ‘present day man’ believes their movements and growth/ decay as ‘natural’…Thus it is just a question of ‘mental attitude’…realized as a time related phenomenon by the ‘wise ancients’, or/ rather the ‘advanced persons’ who could ‘levitate’, walk on water, disappear from one place - to reappear at another ‘distant place’ instantaneously, etc, i.e., perform ‘miracles’ – in the words of apparently ‘imperfect humans today’ that as per ‘wise ancients’ is because of time and related events being highlighted as the ‘perfect being’ reviews His Own history in reverse order…as it apparently gets reflected in humans when they blievably introspect…and humans were realized as an 'image of God' Himself!

JC said...

In the ‘present’, saints like Adi Shankaracharya act as inspiration to the ‘seekers’ to help realize human life as a drama or illusion…I give another reaction to an article in newspaper, the ‘more powerful media’ is bent upon sustaining ‘Maya’ that is illusion, while the ‘seekers’ appear weaker – thanks to the design!

Reference ‘Second Opinion’ article “Bharat could save India from US recession” by Jug Suraiya, it might be pointed out that some apparently ‘wiser person’ had already realized, “We are all square pegs in round holes!”

From ‘Hindu’ point of view, an inverted ‘pyramid’ - that has ‘Brahma-like’ four faces that meet at its ‘apex/ bottom’, that is, a point or ‘Nirakar’ - can be visualized as an ‘imperfect object’, i.e., a ‘square peg’ with which the ‘wise persons today’ attempt to fill a ‘perfect’ void, i.e., a ‘round hole’ that tapers down conically to a point – thus only the two points can perhaps meet, that too if their height/ depth are the same!

It’s because ‘I’ am an inhabitant of the ‘Milky Way Galaxy’ and, although, ‘I’ find myself on ‘green earth’ that is ‘red near its centre’ (and as its reflection, Ripley observed that a ‘black berry is red when it is green’) I have learnt that I am being sustained on ‘white sunlight’ remotely. And therefore ‘I’ buy ‘white milk’ for whitening the essence of the ‘Trimurty (Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh), or as its reflection, ‘two leaves and a bud’, that is, ‘black tea’, the drink that cheers rich and poor alike in Bharat…And, as a ‘silver lining to the dark cloud’, I get ‘malai’ or cream to eat! Thus ‘I have my cake and eat it too’!

Bharat was perhaps happier when the white British ruled the dark Bharatis. An average man could contentedly sustain on just a few rotis and pyaz, i.e., bread and onion! Starvation deaths happen today even despite Ambanis, Mittals et al! It is a phenomenon where hunger is become an uncontrolled fire…that can’t ever be quenched – except by ‘natural submergence’…For we have reached a state of ‘no technical solution possible’!

Joshi Uncle,

There is a concept as you have said in one of your earlier comments that we are just actors in a stage and our actions are already predefined. Seems to be true, certain things are bound to happen no matter how much we try to stop it.

May be thats why we have horoscopes to guide us through this life. But yes, there is this mathematical concept of Nadi jyotish, which basically tells you who you are by a single thumb print of your hand. I thought i was all fraud, but somewhere it too seems to make sense...

That we are part of a higher design, and we are just stuck in this world of illusion.

The ‘present day forensic scientists’ also long ago reached the conclusion that no two thumb impressions are identical. And, because this knowledge was chanelled into the heads of ‘anti-social elements’ also, (or negative forms of the Creator), and with the common observation that the ‘lock breaker’ is always one step of the ‘lock maker’, advancement in technology helped them also to find ways to even create modified thumb-impressions! However, now infra-red cameras have been developed in the USA to identify individuals based on their thermal image!

The ‘advanced ancients’, at different times apparently went still deeper, or maybe, in reality, the ‘chosen ones’ were similarly taken down still deeper, and reached the ‘Absolute Truth’ - at the appropriate time in the past - of existence of the Formless Creator alone, besides the innumerable ‘Truths’ of illusory physical world/ universe, as His Own Images that apparently reflect hierarchy, through various physical forms, from zero capacity apparent in the certain cross section of the society at any time due to various apparent factors, despite each individual’s infinite potential – thus some of whom are destined to exist throughout their life ‘like vegetables’ – to varying capacities, and yet all remaining ‘imperfect’. While a glimpse of infinite power apparently is sometimes exercised by ‘Nature’ or ‘natural elements’…like a teacher who believes in ‘spare the rod and spoil the child’…

Saint Tulsidas, conveyed in Ramayana, through the character of Lord Rama in the apparent drama of life that love for God cannot be generated in the absence of fear.

Due to fear of unknown, in order to avoid the child going out on its own alone and thus likelihood of its encountering some problem, the biggest source of fear used by a child’s mother is ‘bhoot’, or the ‘ghost’ that is the formless!
And, only later does she advise the grown up to chant ‘Hanuman chalisa’, the mantra in praise of ‘Sankat Mochan’ the ‘Trouble shooter’, which would dispel all evil spirits and lead one to Bhootnath Shiva, the Lord of the Ghosts, through Rama-Sita (Sun & Moon) the aspects of creation and sustenanace, or ‘Brahma & Vishnu’ of the Trimurty Shiva (composite Earth)!

JC said...

From ‘my’ point of view, the essence of the ‘Absolute Truth’, possibly reached by any soul at any time, is, “I am Him”, that is, “I am Bhootnath Shiva/ Vishnu”, the ‘Nirakar Nadbindu’ or the Formless Creator. And, also the ‘Truth’ that in the apparent ‘present’ that was my ‘past’ I was merely a temporary image or one of the characters among the innumerable ones in the drama who all played some role that I assigned to myself vis-à-vis the ones assigned to other images with the sole purpose of realizing the self in ‘material’ terms!

The physical universe is thus my museum that helps me ever remain conscious of my overall personality!

JC said...

Kavitha, here is another reaction on the above lines to an article in 'my' newspaper...

This is with reference to the ‘Second Opinion’ article “Death turns Benazir into a saintly star” by Jug Suraiya, (toi, 1/3), which, in his own vein, could perhaps be seen as an attempt to fool ‘Hindus by thoughts’ by a ‘Hindu by birth’ that apparently carries 'a half cooked soul' having a ‘third eye’ that hasn’t yet been exposed to the essence of Bhagavadagita - of course, as part of the script for the human-life drama written by the one and only Supreme Being, which reflects the characteristic property of ‘time’ towards the fag-end of Kaliyuga, that in reality was the beginning of the evolution when eventually Shiva the ‘Trimurty’ emerged as the lone winner at the end of Satyuga. That, of course, was reached instantaneously by Him in the long lost past and now the apparent physical universe is used by Him, and by His Own Images also, as His Own private museum ;-)

And, therefore, the write-up could be realized as part of history, in the ‘true image’ of what ‘Blind men in white coat’, (Dhritrashtra-like), are apparently doing to ‘Indians’ in the ‘Down Under’ country - a battle between ‘Christians’ and ‘Hindus’ (cousins of Mahabharat-like) who even in their own country are treated like ‘dalits’ by the majority ‘demons’ or ‘selfish’ persons, whosoever happens to wield some power of the ‘sword’, or the ‘pen’ ;-)

Kavitha, when one looks around oneself at, say, the Shiva Temples in South India itself without any prejudged notions and irrespective of one’s belief or faith: What does one find?

Maybe you would say that there exists a variety of those: Some are in open, some within masonry structures - in different stones/ bricks; of varying sizes - small or big; and pertaining to different periods of time, which however might take you only to a few thousand years from today on over 4 billion-year-old earth; and so on.

Similarly, depending on what field of activity one finds oneself to be engged in, one can see how a variety of plant/ animal life forms of different ages co-exist on earth at the same time. There is variety also in ‘non-living’ things also, such as, water bodies – seas, rivers, lakes, ponds, and so on…

With the above as background data, depending on one’s faith, at least one could perhaps consider earth also as a museum of ‘Nature’…
‘Hindus’, perhaps because of the existence of Creator believably in some unique energy form, in an attempt to go to the possible remotest physical past considered Himalayan Range as a reflection of Vishnu’s believable unlimited energy. And, in so far as animal life on earth is considered, ‘life giving waters of Ganga-Yamuna-Brahmaputra having their origin in ‘Kailash’, Mount Kailash-Mansarovar Lake itself as the abode of Shiva-Parvati, they represented the Formless by Shivalinga & Parvati’s Yonipith, which they worshipped with reverence – unlike ritual worship by the majority ‘born Hindus’ today…Thus it’s perhaps a question of difference in mental attitudes only - attributed in the Gita, by Yogiraja Krishna, the “Siddha Purush” to ‘lack of overall knowledge’ in humans due to ‘Maya’ that is illusion…

In the msg box I read the following conversation:
3 Jan 08, 12:17
jeysankher12@yahoo.com: i would like to know where are good nadi astrologers and ardhanadhi temple plz let me now where are ardhanadhiswar temple

3 Jan 08, 16:56
Kavitha: Tiruchengode near Salem and Erode - Tamilnadu enshrines the Ardhanareeswara form of Shiva. I have seen a lot of Nadi Jyotsyars around Sirkali Vaitishwaran Koil
**********************
In this connection, I wou8ld like to say that it is believed that the palmists/ astrologers who have natural intuitive power are the best ones to be consulted.

Of course, it all depends on the popularity of the practitioner concerned and one’s faith and 'luck'!

Knowledge about appearance of dreams in all animals itself gives an insight into the miraclulous design of each form - particularly human beings. Some of whom thus are apparently led deeper into the subject at any period of time.

It is however considered a remarkable matter when an average man apparently sees something in one’s dream, and later at some stage in ‘future’, finds it to turn out true!

Such persons are then believed to have an extra sensory power (ESP), which certain Yogis appear to have had deliberately developed through Yogic exercises.

They thus appear to have reached the conclusion, or the ‘Truth’, that the head of the animal world, MAN, is a unique instrument that being an essence of the universe itself is capable of realizing the Supreme Being that is related with zero time and space and is considered as the 'detached' Creator of the infinite universe…only if it is so destined, that is, if it is part of the grand design!

The ‘wise ancients’ in the Gita, in fact, have conveyed that alone as the purpose of all humans on earth. However, the ‘wisest of the wise ancients’ didn’t throw light on what His Own purpose in reviewing the apparent eternal drama, or dream is!

The 'Hindu' mythological stories indicate ‘Krishna’ as the representative of ‘Vishnu’, which literally means ‘poisonous atom’, and Krishna in human form, in the Gita, also frankly claims himself to be an agent of death. He is indirectly shown as such by depicting him as ‘breaking earthen pitchers of milk-maids’ on their way back to their homes from Yamuna (‘sister’ of Dharmaraja Yama, the agent of death), and thus letting out water, that is, symbolically the release of souls within their physical forms!

And, the return of the souls that are believed as essence of the physical forms back to ‘Krishna’ is indicated by his ‘stealthily eating butter’, which in the Gita is indicated by his claim that he is the origin, store-house, and the goal of all souls…

Astronomers believably have found the planets to exist in space, besides their own gravity and forces due to interactions with other planets also depending on their distance etc, under the influence of two major centres of forces, that is, the centre of the galaxy and the sun.

A planet is believed likely to lose its independent existence by either falling into the sun, or by falling into the centre of our galaxy, which believably houses a Black Hole. The existence of planetoids and meteorites etc. within the solar system indicate that a planet also might get transformed by disintegrating in space and thereby continue to revolve around the sun…

Astrologers in the ‘east’ apparently realized our Milky Way Galaxy and, similarly in its turn, the solar system to reflect the entire apparent infinite universe. Thus, for study of human structure that also was similarly realized as an essence of the universe in its formation, and in view of the apparent imperfect behaviour of man, they apparently considered essences of just eight selected members of the solar system, including sun, and not ten that they believed was allowed only during the Satyuga, the era of relatively perfect behaviour…and to a little extent in Tretayuga also, as it gets reflected in names of ‘Dasharatha’ the father of Rama, and also “Dashanan’, which refers to Ravana the ‘anti-god'!

JC said...

Once man was realized as an instrument, as Krishna apparently conveyed to Arjuna and thus bringing transformation in his behaviour once the ‘Truth’ was revelaed to him, with the communication passed through ages to fresh souls or debutant ‘Yogis’ at other times also, they appear to have found innumerable ways to understand the likely behaviour of the concerned instruments vis-à-vis the known behaviours of the planets. It is, of course, well known that Indians were highly advanced in Astronomy in the ‘past’ that in fact was the ‘future’!

Astrology was a relatively more complicated ‘science’ that was based on the position of the ‘grahas’, that is, solar system members, in the sky at the time of any individual’s birth, indicated in one’s specific horoscope that needed further analysis by an ‘expert’. However, it is obvious that with the background knowledge likely to have been lost in the sands of time, in the ‘present’ it is very probable that the predictions might not turn out absolutely correct…in any of the available systems...

Palmistry, that is, prediction of behaviour of a particular individual based on reading one’s palms - which believably represented the two hemispheres of the composite earth as an essence of the universe - similar to an architect or an engineer reading architectural/ structural drawings, was perhaps found relatively easier, but it apparently needed the reader to possess higher intuitive power and, of course, years of experience in the field…
As there are various paths to reach one’s destination in mind, there are different ways apparently revealed to man to predict ‘future’ events in one’s life.

Out of many such practitioners, those who apparently used ‘spirits’, or inferior souls, for either reading, and also sometimes improving one’s behaviour, depending on their expertise, are generally called ‘Tantrics’…

JC said...

As ‘I’ have narrated earlier elsewhere also, personally because of my wife’s arthritic condition not only did ‘I’ come across a few ‘tantrics’ in the Northeast region of India, where it seemed they were commonly practicing in the ‘black art’ even for petty matters, ‘I’ myself felt, in the early eighties that there was some special charge in the air in that region, particularly when without any training, my then around ten-year-old daughter, apparently like a bolt from the blue, announced cancellation of my flight!

And later ‘I’ myself heard some voice that reminded me what ‘I’ was required to buy from the market! And, I thus recalled line from Ghulam Ali's ghazal, "Kal shab mujhe beshakla ki awaaz ne chaunka diya...", that is, last night the voice of the unseen startled me...

Of course, such events then have inspired me to gather more information about human behaviour vis-à-vis use of gemstones, and thus provide a little help in better understanding of Palmistry…and the Formless Creator too via mythological stories, although He is 'anant' or unending and beyond human comprehension!

JC said...

And, the ‘seeker’ becomes aware at a certain stage that apparently it is beyond one’s capacity to know the one who is ‘anant’, that is, infinite, within limited time span allotted to a soul (with human form) within which one is supposed to know Him fully, although the whole ‘Nature’ is placed in front of one like an open book!

Perhaps following a similar logic, human life was, therefore, visualized by the ‘wise’ ancients to be like school/ college students - or ‘shishyas’ (the word that is now known popularly as ‘Sikhs’, recognized as a ‘matial race’, a branch of ‘Hinduism’, necessarily created at a certain point in time out of ‘peace loving Indians’, because of ‘natural forces’ due to the continuous ‘churning’ between the ‘selfless’ and the ‘selfish’, each group apparently forming a clear cut hierarchy within it) - who continue to appear in examinations, through the major part of their life. And somehow in human life (imperfect) management the majority is declared to have passed even with 33% or so marks!
However, His standard of marking believably is tougher (It is said, to the effect, “Although there might be delay in delivery of justice, His governance is faultless!”

He apparently eventually accepts only 100% marks to be obtained by each soul, thus each soul is necessarily obliged to go through unending cycles till Satyuga’s end is reached!

Like building of the once upon a time ‘advanced Roman Empire’ is realized to have taken sustained valiant efforts by certain ‘heroes’ over a long period of time, as a reflection of it, a ‘seeker’ could perhaps appreciate ‘Krishna’s efforts’ in single-handedly achieving ‘perfection’ in the physical form of immortal Trimurty Shiva, the ‘three-in-one Creator’ (Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh) – for the benefit of dullest of students reflected even in the form of ‘Bilva’ the ‘bel’ tree leaf used in worship of Shiva by the poorest of the poor, or ‘two leaves and a bud’ of tea plant, the Ma-Kali-like generator of the dark conction of a drink that cheers all rich as well as poor in ‘India’!

JC said...

Personally, as a ‘seeker’, I considered delving deeper into the subject of ‘Maya’ that is illusion, only after I had purposefully read about it in the Gita in the middle eighties, a copy of which was presented to me by one of my staff members as a farewell gift in the middle seventies, at a time when I thought it was worthless for me!

The ensuing period, during my Rama’s exile-like postings, while on one hand helped me get ‘better educated’ in my field of work, as the dark side of it my wife getting afflicted with Rheumatoid arthritis overshadowed it. And, although, it continued to act as a heavy burden on our minds for the rest of my family life, perhaps Krishna’s thoughts and Rama’s reported life history and visualization of His sufferings helped us bear it to some extent!

The background knowledge of ‘vedantic thoughts’, of one Nirakar, or Formless, Creator and rest all apparent physical forms as His images, credited to Adi Shankaracharya, on one hand and the ‘present day’ knowledge of human brain as a Super Analogical Computer, I found my photographs captured at different times during my life, as also my childhood experience of ‘magical mirors’ helpful in visualizing the phenomenon of ‘Maya’ to some extent…

Hi Kavitha, Here is another reaction to a newspaper article...

“Hari anant/ Hari katha ananta…” God has mouths and eyes in all directions (vide the Gita), and thus there exist infinite versions of the same event…

This is with reference to ‘Benazir’s deadly legacy’ by William Dalrymple, the historian of ‘City of Djinns’ fame (toi, 5/1) – another view-point through the eyes of ‘west’ that ruled the ‘past’ that’s called ‘present’ by the majority of debutant souls!

“Satyam Shivam Sunderam,” that is, Shiva alone is beautiful and He alone is the ‘Truth,’ is the realized essence of ‘Hindu belief’…

A renowned writer in Malyalam language from Kerala told me in the early eighties that thanks to the ‘west’, we have learnt to record history in chronological order. And my reply to him then also was that recognizing impossibility of keeping physical record and maintaining it for billions of years in this ever changing earth, the ‘wise ancient Hindus’ considered that only as the ‘truth’ or ‘satya’ which remained unchanged over a long period…

[Such as, for example, the apparent fact that the sun rises in the ‘east’ and sets in the ‘west’ - and to an average man, in his day-to-day life its time of rising/ setting is unimportant to record for these fluctuate from one day to another! Of course, it might interest some ‘seekers of truth’, who apparently are engaged in doing in-depth study, despite want of time as in the ‘present’ that is in fact the remotest ‘past’ – through the eyes of the ‘wise and advanced Hindus’ at the end of Satyuga! ]

At some point in time in history the apparently ‘highly advanced’ inhabitants of ‘east’, on the banks of a river that came to be known as Indus (because of Indu the moon that formed the primary basis of their panchang, the Almanac), were called ‘Hindus’ by the then ‘barbarians’, or the inhabitants of Europe in the ‘west’…an accepted fact by historians themselves…

In short, as the essence or ‘satva’ of the illusory Creation, ‘Hindus’ eventually realized man as a model of the (illusory) universe, which in the ‘west’ - at a certain point of time - was interpreted as “God created man in His Own image”…

‘Present day historians’, in the words of the ‘wise ancients’, because of the apparent ‘blinkered vision’, cannot see what they saw – that is, they have clearly indicated physical earth merely as an image as it existed in the ‘perfect past’ – like as its reflection one’s photograph or image when one was apparently Supreme ruler of the world, say Lord Rama as the model of the ‘temporary’ sun - although over 4 billion years in age today!

It is, therefore, as part of a grand design by the Supreme Being, beyond the ‘half-cooked or debutant souls’ to realize the ‘Absolute Truth’ of Nirakar Nadbindu, or Formless God or Paramatma the Supreme Soul by ‘inferior souls’ at any time other than Satyuga!

By the way, for the benefit of the debutant souls, the phenomenon gets reflected also in an irritating dust particle eventually turning into a beautiful pearl inside the mouth of an oyster in the deep sea-bed. And, the seabed itself can rise up to result in the Himalayan range of mountains that, while itself remaining immobile, acts not only as source of life-giving water to us ‘bxxody Indians’, in the eyes of our White rulers, (who are cause apparent of ‘partition’ of ‘India’, which also is forgotten thanks to ‘time', the best healer!). One perhaps knows that the Himalayas are the cause apparent of the annual south-west monsoon that, in the first place, has given us ‘Indians’ the apparent eternal water cycle – that also now looks doubtful thanks to the 'globalisation started by the ‘west’, naturally perhaps, as the direction controlled by Saturn/ Venus the poisonous planet or Neelamber Krishna! Even Rama's Ganga has got rapidly polluted because of industrialisation/ globalisation!

‘Krishna’, the raw but ‘lucky eighth soul', who single-handedly attained perfection as Shiva the Trimurty, therefore, says, “Surrender in Me!” It's a difficult proposition, isn't it Sir?

JC said...

Once a soul is aware that it’s only the projection of the events related with the ‘past’, and that too in a reverse order that every soul is getting to see in the ‘present’, it becomes easier to realize why majority of things appear to go from bad to worse with passage of time, although there might appear some sort of evolution in certain fields of activities, or persons, in certain limited pockets...

A fountain or a natural geyser, or a diwali cracker, called ‘anar’ in Hindi, or pomegranate, same as the name of the fruit, which more or less could be said to be a ‘natural’ model of an erupting volcano, could perhaps help visualize the phenomenon to a certain extent. That is to say that seen as a whole in the lower region, as a reflection of the first stage that was called Kaliyuga, one wold observe sparkles in the middle moving up from the mouth of the 'crater', while the sparkles that had eventually reached some higher elevation earlier, are seen to return to the ground or their origin…Similarly, one can visualize that the 'active' portion would appear still fresh and dynamic, while the returning, relatively 'wiser souls' would apparently have at some stage would have nearly realized the 'Truth', but they might not retain the memory of it because of the design - the forgetful nature of souls entrapped within human forms...symboloically shown under the foot of dancing or Natraj Shiva, called Apsmara Purush that is those who cannot recall their memory!

JC said...

Just as man was realized as the model of the universe by ‘wise ancients’, models in ‘Nature’ could help visualize, irrespective of time and spatial location of the concerned soul in human form, behaviour of physical forms vis-à-vis the status of soul within.

The ‘advanced’ or ‘realized souls’ have also appeared to have done so, as indicated in communications carried over through innumerable generations in the ‘past’ that, in fact, was relatively their ‘future’ with reference to the origin of all souls in ‘Krishna’...

Let’s briefly glance at the game of Cricket, ‘a gentleman’s game’ at some time in the ‘recent past’, when it gave happiness to all, and where the ball (symbolically representing the soul) remains within earth’s control, vis-à-vis the efforts of ‘space scientists’, for both appear naturally to influence a large number of souls on the globe in the ‘present’ – perhaps as reflections of a ‘true democracy’ that man wants to achieve, but which apparently remains elusive believably because of ‘time’ and its believable characteristic property related with the era concerned as per ‘ancient east’...

One apparently has come to know from ‘western scientists’ who proudly managed to escape from earth’s gravity to superficially, at least, probe some of the members of the solar system - who in the earlier stages apparently gave an impression that man is superior to ‘Nature’ and would control it one day, for they felt that the ‘ancient east’ was foolish to have treated ‘Nature’ with reverence - that ‘planet earth is in peril’!

And, that it’s so, apparently clearly because of all round foolish behaviour of humans all over the globe under the leadership of the ‘west’ represented by the USA, with their HQ in North America that is located virtually directly on the opposite end of the globe (-) with reference to Shiva’s Kashi (+) with earth’s centre (Ma Kali) as the zero (0) datum!

The ancient Hindus explained this phenomenon to lack of overall knowledge n the beginning because of emergence of ‘poison’ when ‘churning’ was started at the beginning of a Kaliyuga by the Bhootnath Shiva, who is related with zero time and space, but being ‘perfect’ or a ‘Supreme Soul’, for him ‘imossible is nothing’ the words credited to Sachin Tendulkar 'today' despite the game having become 'scoundrels game!

Here is another raction to articles in ‘my newspaper’…because it is beyond comprehension of ‘selfish’…and can perhaps be appreciated by ‘seekers’ only!

"This refers to ‘Jugular Vein’ article Divine rites (about introduction of ‘democracy’ in Nepal) & ‘Shashi on Sunday’ article Democracy won’t die with Benazir in Pak by S/Shri Jug Suraiya and Shashi Tharoor respectively (STOI).

At the outset ‘I’ would like to point out that a ‘Hindu’ - and even a ‘Christian’ - must not forget that human life is a drama: Ram/ Ravana leela; or Krishna/ Kansa leela; and so on believably being enacted on ‘mithya jagat’, that is, an illusory stage called earth (Shakespeare :-)

With the above as background, superficially at least, both articles are excellent in so far as English language is concerned. Frankly speaking, ‘I’ was obliged to refer to the dictionary many times to understand what the writers wanted to communicate to the layman like me.

However, if ‘I’ or ‘i’ were allowed to speak frankly in a ‘believably democratic country' – as per present day ‘Gandharis and Dhritrashtras’, although the language itself gives a nice impression to a lay person at a glance, the contents miserably fail to reach at the ‘truth’, that is, how can ‘I’ or ‘i’ believe Democracy can ever die with the death of a human being, whatever might be its name - who continue to die since time immemorial even from heat/ cold/ starvation/ suicides in large numbers – even Rama & Krishna the revered personalities believably had to die because of ‘time’?

True Democracy can be seen even today in the form of the whole universe visualized by Hindus as the ‘Divine Person’ or the one and only ‘Supreme Being/ Kumari’, and also as its essence in the form of our Solar system itself that is in existence for over 4 billion years today – as the cause apparent of ‘Maya’ that is illusion in humans!

As realized by 'wise ancient Hindus', in the solar system, Venus, the poisonous planet, believably rules during Kaliyuga that is indicated as the ‘present’, the events during the ‘Christian Era’ perhaps reflect its fag-end/ beginning of the ‘churning’ in the evolutionary process in ‘Nature’. Further churning through Dwaper, Treta & Satyugas believably led to perfection culminating in the rule of Earth-Moon-Mars, Trimurty Shiva!"

Krishna says anybody can reach Him - but only if one surrendered all one’s action in Him. Read with the apparent realization by the ‘advanced Hindus’ that man is merely an instrument, a ‘model of the universe’, or ‘His Own image’, utilised by Him for achieving perfection in the ‘past’, say, just as one uses his vehicle for commuting, no matter which one - maybe even one’s own two feet. For even Lord Vishnu uses Garuda, that is, Eagle; His consort, Lakshami uses Owl; Shiva uses Bull; Kartikeya uses Peacock; Ganesha uses Mouse; Parvati uses Tiger; and so on…

The above might help a ‘selfless seeker’ to perhaps understand that ‘Maya’ or illusion conveys apparent centre of our earth as the cause apparent of the drama. And interestingly, the ancient Hindu Astronomers, therefore, indicated earth as the centre of the universe, whereas earth was considerd as ‘Mithya’ or a ‘lie’, ‘a market where only lies were sold’!

Kavitha, I read the following msg-

6 Jan 08, 09:33 / 09:35
padma: i have seen 4 nadi jyostyars around vaitishwaran temple.Do you really think they are good?I feel that they took my name and my parents from me.

All four of them have different predictions for my future.
***************************

In this regard, I would like to say that as expected each person would predict according to the level of one’s ‘expertise’ developed in a particular school of thought, just as in the ‘field of science’ also each ‘scientist’ might have divergent views, thus one finds a numbers of theories in respect of, say, the ‘Origin of universe’…

If someone wants to improve one's performance, one needs to approach a dependable Palmist/ Astrologer...

Although, the ‘present day scientists’ have poor opinion about the ‘ancents’ (due believably to lack of overall knowledge), it is definite that they were more advanced, but we fail to understand or decipher their language…

We know that ‘India’ is located in the Northern hemisphere, and as we have also seen earlier that the ‘Down Under’ country, Australia, located in the Southern hemisphere, is sculpted by the ‘panch-bhootas’ or ‘panch-tatvas’ in the form of the head of a bull, and the stories indicated Nandi the Bull as the ‘vehicle of Shiva’, the consort of ‘eight-handed-Parvati’, who is associated with the Himalayas as the ‘shakti-peetha’ the seat of ‘Shakti’ or power! It perhaps indicates the Geographical fact that Australia, as well as Antartica, both could once upon a time might have been parts of ‘India’ that got separated at a certain stage from the sub-continent due to ‘churning’…For the story has it that as Shiva was interfering with Parvati’s privacy that she believably created ‘Ganesha’…

Ganesha, believably with Mouse (perhaps Sri Lanka) as his vehicle, acted as Her private sentry, to even stop Shiva from disturbing Her by providing him blessings of both mothers, Gauri (source of white light, Sun) as well as Kali (source of gravitational force in the centres of heavenly bodies), the Goddesses in-charge of both, ‘material’ as well as ‘spiritual’ powers, i.e., the essences of Venus and Mars both...

Acupuncturists indicate ‘heart’ as well as ‘small intestine’ channels, ending and beginning, repectively, in the little fingers in human hand, while middle finger (representing Venus) and thumb (representing Mars) have the channels associated with the ‘Pericardium’ and ‘Lung’, respectively – and ‘Krishna’ believably lifted the Mount Goverdhan on His little finger – and from the inner end of the palm, under the little finger, starts the ‘Heart Line’ that determines the physical strength of an individual)!

Whereas, the superior or Guru, the one who points the right direction to the students, is indicated by the index ginger, that represents Moon that rules the head as the ‘Head Line’ that determines the ‘mental strength’ of the individual concerned, together with ‘Life Line’ that reflects the overall life, start from the outer end of the palm below the index finger…

‘Scientists’ tell us that the solar system is already about 4.6 billion years old and ‘Hindus’ also have conveyed that for review of the entire 360 degrees of the space/ globe Bhootnath takes near about that much time during 1080 cycles of Mahayuga of 4.32 million years (ten times that of a Kaliyuga, believably of a duration of 432,000 years) during one day in the life of ‘Brahma’, that is, the creative aspect, Sun represented through Moon, of the Trimurty Shiva (composite earth) – Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesha of the mythology, Vishnu being represented by Krishna the centre of our galaxy that is reflected by essence of Mars, housed at ‘mooladhar’ in human form. Thus one could visualize ‘Trimurty Shiva’ represented by Earth-Moon-Mars, while Venus alone apparently ruled during Kaliyuga, the projectin of which is seen in the ‘present’ as ‘the first stage of churning’ of the Milky Way Galaxy is being highlighted the nth time…of the long lost past, the bhoota that continues to scare us even ‘today’ – because of lack of overall knowledge!

Anonymous said...

Of course, the mythology also conveys that it is not easy for humans to overcome ‘Maya’ and needs firm faith! For even Brahma, who had evolved from Lord Vishnu’s navel, apparently found it difficult, as even he too had to pass testing time for long when He thought he was close to being consumed by the ‘demons’ who had evolved from the ears of Lord Vishnu and had continued to grow bigger with passage of time while the Lord appeared to be asleep all the while! He was, however, relieved only when the desired action of grabbing the demons was taken at the appropriate time!

JC said...

The mythology also conveys, through various gurus or teachers, that is, ‘superiors’ - in knowledge or information about ‘Nature’ - which till a particular moment or instant of time wasn’t apparently known to an individual. For example, through the Tretayuga’s characters of Hanuman, ‘the flying monkey’ (evolved model of long jumpers, or ‘advanced Yogis’ who had developed expertise in the ‘art of levitation’ perhaps), and Jamwant, the leader of ‘bears’ (dark skinned and hairy persons perhaps) acting as a pundit, it is conveyed how any individual soul at a particular instant of time is allowed access to limited information only, although every soul has the entire energy/ information available within eight different ‘chakras’, literally ‘wheels’, or ‘Bandhas’ that is, ‘locks’ distributed within each human form and thus remaining unutilised. The efficiency range in Kaliyuga believably is the least, varying between 25% maximum and Nil at the beginning/ end when reverse order is considered…

However, as we have seen with the example of a fountain, and also with the background knowledge that in the ‘present’ or ‘a Kaliyuga being highlighted or projected by the Supreme Soul’ the different souls apparently have varying information available within the ‘bandhas’ still remaining to be untapped by the ones that are on their way up, while the ones that are returning and are able to recall memory (as part of the design), and even their words recorded in some manner somewhere can act as Gurus – only if it too is a part of the design…for it is seen that the advice generally falls on deaf ears!

Anonymous said...

About the design part, the behaviour of souls is expressed in the popular saying, “Birds of the same feather flock together”. And Yogis have indicated essences of eight ‘grahas’ to have been utilized in reflection of the apparent grand variety in human behaviours. The phenomenon could perhaps be visualized as it is reflected through students of ‘communication design’ attempting the largest numbers of possible shades of grey by mixing black and white colours only, and of course one knows that there are seven other colours available for various other permutations and combinations...

In terms of ‘grahas’, ‘scientists’ consider our Sun to have a ‘black body’, although it believably is the main source of white light! And, the direction ‘South’, the base of the globe, is believably ruled by Sun, having white light as its essence; while ‘North’, the head, is believably ruled by Moon, having yellow colour as its essence. And, as applied to Jambudweep that got transformed to ‘India’ after the emergence of the Himalayan Ranges from under the sea-bed, the northern region of ‘India’ believably reflected the same characteristic property as that of the ‘head’ of the globe, that is, Shiva, the Gangadhar and Chandrashekhara!

However, it is also a ‘scientific fact’ that the Himalayan region, from Upper Himalayas in the N-W to the Lower Himalayas in the N-E - essences of Green (earth), Yellow (moon), and Orange (mars) - continues to remain ‘active’, as if conforming to the saying, “Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown”!

Thus the Himalayan region is prone to small and big landslides; subsidence of land at places, occurrence of frequent earthquakes, some of which have high intensisties and are categorized as ‘catastrophic’, and thus might help in visualizing what the ‘ancients’ meant by Natraja Shiva and His ‘Tandava Nritya’ – and in the ‘truncated India’, one perhaps needs to realize or remain conscious that 'India & Pakistan' share the hilly states of J&K as the common disturbed head, and could perhaps recall the 'natural' LOC earthquake recently – forgotten thanks to ‘time’, the entire world delving superficially only on BB's assassination and consequent damage in Pakistan, perhaps deja vu, as a carbon copy of Indira Gandhi's in 'India'!

Here is another reaction to an article in my newspaper on a current ‘burning issue’…
Anil Dharker ji (reference Is it a gentleman’s game?), it can perhaps be called a strange foolhardiness, or lack of overall knowledge in the words of the Gita, particularly as the words come form a so-called ‘Hindu’ educated in a ‘western game’ devised by Neelamber Krishna, but perfected by Him as Peetamber Krishna!

In fact, in-depth review only can reveal the game of Cricket to reflect the functioning of our Milky Way Galaxy, as its true ‘working model’ that conforms to the time period that is being highlighted at a particular time. ‘Present’ being the fag-end of Kaliyuga, or/ rather the beginning stage when churning had just started by Kali that is Raktamber Krishna, controller of direction 'east', and had just evolved as Neelamber Krishna the controller of direction ‘west’, we are seeing mainly the ‘wild specimens’ belonging to ‘west’ vis-à-vis the evolved specimens, called ‘gentlemen’ thanks to Peetamber Krishna at the end of Satyuga, who also co-exist with the wild specimens in the museum called Earth!

The game was apparently introduced by the ‘west’ during the ‘colonial rule’ in the ‘Indian sub-continent’ too that today has four’ truncated countries’ representing ‘ erstwhile India’ participating in the international matches.

It perhaps won’t be wise to expect only the game of Cricket to have ‘100% gentlemen’ when in Kaliyuga, the early days of evolution of species that eventually all reached ‘perfection’ through ‘struggle for existence’ & ‘natural selection’, that is transformation of ‘wild animals’ or ‘cavemen’ into ‘gentlemen’ only at the end of Satyuga…

Satyuga naturally lies in the long lost past, just as the popular line ‘Dilli door ast’!

JC said...

When ‘I’ say ‘imperfection’, it doesn’t refer to the 'stage', that is, earth. It refers only to the animal world, particularly human beings.

In the apparent ‘inferior life forms’, a ‘seeker’ could observe uni-directional evolution, or ‘expertise’ in some particular field of activity that continues to be reflected in the concerned species over long spans of time, which generality of ‘experts’ among humans fail to sustain during successive generations.

Take for example the mosquitoes. Even today, without any external tools, mosquitoes apparently as a whole are ‘perfect’ in so far as their natural capacity to inject chemicals/ extract blood expertly from animals is concerned.

Although there can be observed hierarchy among all animal species also, birds in general could be said to reflect the most efficient and economic system – for example, terns can fly on their own from Arctic region ro Antarctic region, a few thousand kilometers, just on their limited daily ration of grains and water only!

Of course, it is indicated in the Hindu mythology that after coming out of the poisonous effect of Kaliyuga, in Dwaperyuga, with just his conch-shell, Krishna believably used to lower the morale of his opponents in the battlefield of Kurukshetra during Mahabharat war! By Tretayuga Hanuman-like Yogis could fly in air and lift even a whole big hill on their hands, while Rama could shoot thousands of arrows at a time that were capable of penetrating a large numbers of trees planted in a straight line! Yogis believably reached ‘siddhi’ or all round perfection – they could levitate, walk on water/ fire, reach distant places virtually instantaneously, and so on during Satyuga, and only a few souls could apparently recall memory at other times also - in their return journey to the origin - and apparently perform ‘miracles’ for the benefit of fresh souls…

JC said...

Observation of hierarchy in all aspects of ‘Nature’, and also simlar reflections in human behaviour and natural capacities too, indicates that although all temporary physical forms are apparently ‘imperfect’, some one character is likely to be the closest to the ‘perfect’, irrespective of time, whether it is Satyuga when the gap, of course, would be the closest, while it is likely to be the widest in Kaliyuga.

The phenomenon could perhaps be visualized better with the help of a model, say from a Hindu’s view-point, an idol of a deity placed inside a place of worship on top of a high hill, at the foot of which gather the devotees with a view to reaching it.

Obviously, the gap would be the largest when the march is yet to start/ just started. Soon, the single, healthy and strong devotee obviously would apparently leave behind the relatively weaker ones. And, those who belong to a particular group, even though they might be relatively younger and stronger of the lot, would be obliged to proceed upwards at a slower pace and, therefore, would appear to lag behind.

After some time thus, the gap beween the goal and different devotees would apper to have a wide range.

However, even the front runners might also be obliged to halt at times at a particular, maybe predetermined, place for rest and refreshments/ meals together with all other devotees. And, perhaps start again thereafter, in the same manner as they did when they started. Of, course there couild be many exigencies which might not permit exact repetition of the same process...till all reach the temple...

After all devotees had the satisfaction of having had a glimpse of the idol, and performed certain rituals that each one of those is used to, as imbibed from their ancestors, at some stage, most of the devotees would now get reminded of their ‘normal’ day-to-day routine life chores when their downward journey commences.

Only those souls that apparently have ‘nothing’ to do on return to the base could perhaps retain that state of satisfaction they had acquired on reaching the summit even when they are back in their 'temporary homes' to which they are used to, because of 'slavery of time'…

The above could also be visualized with the help of visit to a crematorium in connection with death of some close relative, and the sense of ‘temporary detachment’ during only the time spent there, generally called ‘shmashan vairag’…Yogis in ‘India’ attained the state of physical detachment by withdrawing to the isolation of Himalayan forests, or some ‘Ashrams’, that is, hermitages severing all relations…

Realising the existence of one and only Formless Supreme Being and all physical forms to be illusory, and thus the whole phenomenon as a matter of mental attitude, some ‘wise characters’, such as Adi Shankaracharya etc, therefore advised ‘meditation’ during spare time, i.e., starting with minimum thoughts to eventually achieve control over the mind and reach a ‘zero thought’ stage…to reach the Supreme Being, who believbly is related with zero time and space...

Another reaction on the current 'burning issue'...

This refers to Shri Anil Dharker’s article, It is racism against Indians too (1 / 8/ 2008)…

“What is there in a name? …”, says Krishna through Shakespeare, a ‘western character’. But, Hindu astrologers, because of highly advanced stage reached by astronomers, suggested individuals’ names be adopted based on individual’s rashi, which is determined from the position of MOON in the concerned horoscope, a chart formed of 12 ‘houses’, which in fact indicates the positions, in the sky at the time of birth of the concerned, of ‘grahas’, literally the ‘crocodiles’ (and today a large number of ghadiyals or magarmachchas are dying mysteriously in a certain reach of River Chambal, a tributary of Krishna’s Yamuna – the source of water to all Delhiites! In the Gita Krishna says that among fish (machchas) He is Crocodile!

A ‘Hindu’ might also have heard the story of ‘Gaja & Graha’, i.e., the two physically powerful animals, ‘Elephant & Crocodile’, wherein Lord Vishnu Himself is indicated to have come running bare-footed when He heard His devotee Elephant cry for help. The crocodile had held one of its leg within its powerful jaw, a remarkably wonderful design – of Adbhutnath Shiva!

However, for the Convent-studied ‘experts’, the ‘(Fast) Hare & (slow) Tortoise’ story is more popular though. And interestingly, Lord Ganesha had implanted an elephant’s head found in the ‘north direction’ – and He has slow Mouse as His vehicle! And the Tortoise happens to be the believable second reincarnation of Lord Vishnu Himself, who supports the Globe on its hard back – and interestingly Antarctica is sculpted by the panch-bhootas one of which is ‘vayu’ or ‘air’, i.e., ANIL, in the shape of a Tortoise! However, they sculpted Aystralia in the form of the head of a Bull, and Nandi the bull is the vehicle of Shiva the Destroyer - the great leveller, Mrityulok or Earth!

Obviously, the surname, ‘Dharker’, indicates a person who comes from DHAR, located in Madhya Pradesh, that became popular because of Raja Bhoj, who happened to find King Vikramaditya’s ancient throne that had 32 statues, the story contained in Betal Batteesi (the ‘32 Ghosts’, perhaps hinting at that many teeth in one’s mouth, and history of the individual believably recorded in human teeth), which proved Bhoj to possess lower intelligence and valor than King Vikramaditya, but still allowed to occupy the throne simply because of his (Shiva-like) simple nature, thereby indicating fall in virtue in humans with time!

A coin has three sides, but two sides, like Dhritrashtra/ Gandhari, only are noticed by the ‘west’, the head & the tail (like Black & White), whereas the blank side (the body) that renders the physical shape, or brings it into existence is taken for granted (like brown/ yellow skins)!

Hari ananta/ Hari katha anant…

JC said...

In the ‘present’, ‘Panchatantra’ by Pundit Vishnu Sharma, fables used for educating sons of a King, all dullards, at a certain point of time in the relatively ‘recent past’ is accepted as a remarkable work on Political Administration...

Similarly, through the medium of mythological stories, the ‘wise ancients’, or advanced Hindus’, for instance, indicated Krishna in human form to be the ‘sudershan-chakra-dhari’ Lord Vishnu’s reincarnation. And, also that the first reincarnation of Vishnu was Fish, one of the aquatic life forms while, in the Gita, Krishna is depicted as telling expert archer, Arjuna - to the effect - that although all physical forms are His Own illusory images, among the aquatic life forms He is the Crocodile, that is, ‘graha’, the word also used for members of ‘our solar system’, including sun, but generally used in the 'present' for ‘planets’ that aborb cosmic energy for their own sustenance as also that of the various possible life forms that might exist on those! Thermophilic or heat loving bacteria is believed to exist even on sun – and Hindus indicated soul as indestructible by 'fire' even!

And, the mythological story of Prahlad & Holika, his aunt, indicates how one can lose some characteristic gifted by ‘Nature’ till certain stage and taken for granted by humans - just as the then society apparently believed that Holika cannot be burnt by fire – if that is used with an intention to harm a true devotee of Vishnu, the aspect of Trimurty Shiva that believably is responsible for sustenance of life on earth – Trimurty Shiva understood as Mahesh, the best among the gods in physical form!
