Enlightenment on the streets of Varanasi

Varanasi, the land of lights, and host of one of Shiva’s Jyothir lingas has been celebrated through centuries as a place of high spiritualism. These crowded lanes leading to the temple give a feeling of purpose, of just one goal – a visit to the Lord hoping a million unfulfilled desires be granted or just an aspiration of attaining salvation from the high stress, low good will lives we lead.

In this desperate hurry, to squeeze out every bit of spiritualism this city offers for the time and money spent, most of us miss out on the inherent depth of knowledge that was once a dialog between two profound souls right here.

Amidst the lush green paths that lead to the slivery cool waters of the Ganges, dotted with saffron clad men taking a holy dip in her waters, the sounds in the air were at one point in history, a mixture of nature and profound dialogs on philosophy between men of high intelligence! In this back drop of a river sweeping away the very ashes of life that burn away in the fiery flames of death, an ancient saint was stopped by a sweeper of low caste.

What came forth is a dialog of profound wisdom, which would render us truly enlightened souls if we ever lived by it; this is called the Manishapanchakam. 5 verses of beauty and rhythm, 5 pearls of profound wisdom have brought a different meaning into the lives of mere mortals. This was a dialog sparked between Adi Shankaracharya and a low caste sweeper, when the sweeper refused to move despite Adi Shankara asking him to clear the way as he headed to Kashi Vishwanath temple.

The sweeper just asked one question: Oh Great Saint, what do you mean when you say move, do you want one physical body to move away from another physical body or do you want consciousness to move away from consciousness?

Is there a difference between the reflection of the Sun in the holy Ganges or in the water flowing by the house of an outcaste? What is this illusion of difference between two forms that have the same atman within, that of a Brahman and that of an outcaste? Atman is pure consciousness, a part of a ripple free ocean of bliss.

Shankaracharya, surprised with this question, realized this was no ordinary man and replied:

If the wisdom of consciousness is realized, a person ceases to be an object of perception, and becomes a pure stream of consciousness which shines is deep sleep, dreams and when awake. He who has this consciousness, dwells in all be it Brahma or even an ant, he is my Guru, irrespective of whether he is an outcaste or a Brahman. This is my conviction.

I am Brahman, pure consciousness. This illusion around me is a making of my own ignorance and perception of my mind, a result of my own gunas; satwik, rajasik and tamasik. Brahman, which is bliss, is my Guru, whether he is an outcaste or Brahman.

Having come to the conclusion that the universe is perishable, he who with a calm and pure state of mind constantly meditates on Brahman, he who has burnt his past and future sins into the flames of knowledge, he submits his present body to his praarabdha karma. This is my conviction.

The self is pure consciousness and is experienced clearly within as “I”. It is by the reflection of this consciousness that the mind, body and senses appear to be sentient, though they are insentient. The real self is concealed by the mind, and senses like the sun is covered by clouds. The yogi who always meditates on the self is my Guru, this is my conviction.

The self or atman is an eternal ocean of bliss, a minute fraction of which is enough to satisfy Indra. One who meditates on the self with a perfectly calm mind, experiences Brahman. Such a person is not a mere knower of Brahman, but is Brahman itself. Such a person will be worshipped by Indra, he attains Jivamukta. This is my conviction.

A profound spell of words rained down these very noisy alleys that lead to Kasi Vishwanath temple, long ago in ancient India. The Lord himself graced these streets to test enlightened souls. Such was the pulse of Varanasi.

In simple words, when time was apparently ‘right’, ‘God’ that is Formless Creator was expressed as Supreme Knowledge, Omnipotent and Omnipresent unique Divine Person that was ever awake, or was Super consciousness personified…

Whereas, all ‘physical forms that appeared at any time were believed as ‘His Own Images’ that all were ‘relatively inferior’ at all times - having different percentages of consciousness and thus appear unequal even among themselves, because the range of consciousness in humans as the model of the universe, apparently ‘naturally’, varies from 0% at the beginning (Kaliyuga) tending to 100% at the end of evolution (Sayuga) in humans, which could perhaps remind ‘present day mathematicians’ of the Tangent curve, upon which all humans could perhaps be pin-pointed by the Divine Person, Trimurty Shiva, or by His Own True Image, Krishna (the centre of our Milky Way Galaxy), the representative or image of Vishnu (centre of earth), reflected by Neelamber Krishna/ Kartikeya as a typical model of planet Venus to start with – expressed as ‘churning of milky ocean’ in words that could be easily understood by ‘cowboys’ the ‘pashupati’ who dealt with milk and the various milk products for their livelihood – earlier called ‘Yaduvanshis’, and now Yadavas…

There is a famous Urdu poem, "Wo din hava ho gaye, jab Nawab sahib fakhte urdaya karte thay." That is, in essence, 'Time and Tide wait for none!'

Kavitha, Kashi on the banks of Ganga, the believable birth-place of Adi Shiva the Ardhanarishwar was renamed ‘Varanasi’ the city that was thus named because once upon a time it was located on the banks of two rivers, ‘Varuna’ (the Lord of Water, the 'life-giving element') and ‘Asi’ (meaning ‘sword’, that is used by Kshatriyas to kill that is take life). It was thus - apparently at some point of time during evolution of ‘Krishna’ to Trimurty Shiva’ - blessed by Mother Ganga the central river of the ‘Triveni’ at the believable confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and also Sarawati the consort of Brahma the ‘Goddess of Knowledge’, (*now believably extinct), near the present day city of Allahabad that was once upon a time called Prayag (meaning a ‘Holy City’) and represented ‘Trimurty Shiva’, or Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesha…and therefore now only Vishnu-Mahesha – Brahmaputra perhaps thus reflecting Sun as the ‘head of Brahma cut away by Bhairava Shiva’!

[*And, perhaps it reappeared as a tributary of River Ganga in the northeast, as Brahmaputra the only river in ‘India’ that has a Male name to finally drain into Bay of Bengal as River Padma (meaning the Lotus Flower and flowing in the ‘present day Bangladesh’) that is associated with Brahma, as His seat when He had originally evolved from the navel of Lord Vishnu!]…

Happy Basant Panchami/ Saraswati Puja to all!

Thanks Kavitha!

'I' seek essence the 'satva', that is, 'satya' - the source of 'OM', who believably resides within all!

But, to get to the essence, or the ‘Truth’ in the words of the ‘wise’ ancients, one must travel in one’s own mind the entire universe – like an artist sees an individual from head to feet to know him fully before he/ she can paint the concerned individual’s picture to the proper scale! And, a photographer even also has to ensure that the individual is properly covered in the frame before he clicks the button! Also, a journalist also has to collect lots of authentic information on any individual, particulary a VIP, while writing his biography/ obituary!

One knows today that all schemes related with ‘material’ have certain terms and conditions applicable. Similarly, in the ‘spiritual’ field also the all rounder, or ‘Siddha Purush’, eternal ‘Yogiraja Krishna’/ ‘Yogeshwar Trimurty Shiva’, believably is mysterious as well as mischievous - He apparently reveals the ‘Truth’ only to those who surrender in Him!
It’s apparently a difficult proposition for the ‘present day man’, due believably to ‘time’ being the ‘dark age’ or ‘kaliyuga’, for ‘churning of milky-ocean’, or ‘samudra-manthan’, had just started then for the first time with a view to achieving ‘perfection’, which believably was reached at the end of Satyuga the ‘age of truth’ only! And it is on account of achieving the perfection, Yogeshwar Shiva is believably observing His Own Past!

Another reaction to an article in 'my newspaper'...

‘VSNL aka Mrs Grundy’ (Sotto Voce, 12/2) sounded like 'repetition of history' that is story recorded in ‘Panchtantra’ where a king, who perhaps was suspicious of every Tom, Dick, and Harry and, therefore, had appointed a monkey instead as his body-guard so as not to allow anyone to enter his bedroom when he slept…

But, the monkey, (being a monkey in Kaliyuga and not the faithful Hanuman of Tretayuga!), cut the king’s own nose with the sword while trying to kill an irritating fly that had entered the bedroom without permission and had managed to land on the king’s nose!

And, as per Hindu Mythology, even in Tretayuga, Lakshamana also had believably cut the nose of Ravana’s sister, Soorpa-nakha, which resulted in Sita-haran by Ravana as the cause apparent of his own death in the hands of Sita's husband, Lord Rama helped by Hanuman, the 'flying monkey'!

Yogiraj Krishna, the cowboy and the charming ‘flute player’ who apparently was beloved of all milk-maids of Mathura & Vrindavan, and also related with ‘churning of milky ocean’, that is the ‘Milky Way Galaxy’, that holds the ‘cream’, that is our solar system as the essence of the universe, was called ‘Natkhat’ or mischievous…
If sound energy ‘OM’ reflected Him as the seed or ‘beej mantra’ of the physical universe, as representative of Vishnu; attachment or the opposite, ‘MO’ (pronounced as ‘Moha’, and also ‘More’ the residual milk after cream is removed from it!), believably represents Him as the representative of evolved Shiva the ‘Destroyer’! Thus the fusion of Vishnu & Shiva (Ayyappa, Of Sabrimalai?!), that is attachment with detachment was advised by Yogis!

JC said...

Perhaps an ‘airplane pilot’ in the ‘present day’ is the best example of an individual who literally practices ‘attachment with earth, together with detachment with it’.
Perhaps, therefore, Rajiv Gandhi could be cited as one such example, for he was ‘an ordinary pilot’ before he became the PM of ‘India’ for some years in the recent ‘past’!
Another such example could be ‘Pilot Baba’, a ‘spiritual personality’ who appears on the TV in some ‘spiritual channel’. He reportedly retired as a Wing Commander in IAF and has taken training from some famous Gurus in the Himalayas…

Krishna in the Gita says to the effect that anyone can reach him while living on earth as a spectator, that is, remaining detached with the apparent external world with firm faith in Him unmoved by the illusory world!
Of, coiurse, a difficult proposition for an average man!

JC said...

Kavitha, The wise souls appear to convey the physical world as illusory reflection of Bhootnath Shiva the Supreme Soul in which Earth apparently acts as ‘His Eye’ that reflects innumerable eyes of the unlimted animal forms at any given point in the illusory time! Real time is believably 'zero'! All streets lead to Varanasi located between the apparentl 'physical eyes'!

JC said...

It’s called ‘Ajna Chakra’ or mind’s eye!

Kavbitha, Another reaction as essence of ‘present day India’, sent to ‘my newspaper’. Enjoy!

‘SANIA’, ‘I’ am ever your ‘FAN’.
‘I’ am FOR you when you win a match
‘I’ am AGAINST you when you lose it
‘I’ am NEUTRAL when you are resting

Where, ‘I’ stands for ‘INDIA” - reflected by the Tricolour that is 'Trimurty'!

JC said...

Let us now ‘look outwards’ the Tricolour once again: The white colour with bkue ‘chakra’ that is wheel, to ‘me’, appears to represent the day – when Sun the source of white light generally rules the blue sky. Green at the base represents the green earth the colour refleted by the green leaves - the yoga of Blue (Neelamber Krishna) and Yellow (‘Peetamber Krishna’ that rules the night) colours.

And, Saffron or Orange colour at the top represents the fruit that is related with the Yogis – the colour resulting from yoga of Red & Yellow (red that is ‘Raktamber Krishna’ reflected, in code language, by Red tongue of ‘Ma Kali’ & Yellow the Guru or ‘Yogiraja’ the king of yogis, that is, ‘Peetamber Krishna’).
In essence, ‘I’ saw the ‘Tricolour’ in the Orange tree, its white flowers that turn into numerous orange coloured fruits amidst the green leaves. In northeast India, ‘I’ learnt from a businessman* that the fruit is called ‘Kamala’ (and ‘Kamal’ also means ‘Lotus Flower’ that is related with Brahma!)…

*[The businessman from Delhi, who annually visits the northeast for collecting the dues from retailers there in February, told me - when ‘I’ was traveling by train to Gauhati for the first time – how he found it hard to explain to his wife, who had once by chance got hold of his diary after return from there. She wanted to know why he had been giving Rs 2 daily to ‘Kamala’! (For only females in North India generally bear that name!)]

JC said...

It was in the early Fifties that ‘I’ had first seen the orange tree in the backyard of the Govt. accommodation allotted to my father, planted there by some allottee before him. The apsmara pusrush in ‘me’ only remembered that it bore perhaps the sweetest orange that ‘I’ had eaten before that and in a large numbers during the four seasons that we had resided there as he time then allotted for ‘education’…

JC said...

‘I’ will not repeat the incident related to ‘my’ realisation of the 'Tricolour' as symbolically reflecting human behaviour once when ‘I’ had surrendered in Krishna - like a bolt from the blue - although having slavishly saluted the flag for years!

‘I’ have described earlier elsewhere in detail the said incident…and also the message communicated to ‘me’ by the paper kite and the kite flier, which reflect perhaps the best example of attachment with detachment!

JC said...

In ‘my’ personal opinion, ‘I’ feel each and everything in ‘Nature’ is shouting at the top of their voice. But, like a musical instrument, one can hear only if one is properly ‘tuned’ by the artist that is Him, who resides within!

With the above as background, with present day political situation in mind, like an immature child that has good observation power, the entire media reported the blue sweater on top of Raj Tkakeray’s white shirt when he was dramatically, ‘Bollywood style’, produced before the Magistrate; but, being immature and lacking in belief in ‘Krishna’ the mischievous Divine Person, they failed to see analytically with their mind’s eye that Blue ‘Ashoka Chakra’ on White background represents the middle strip of the 'Tricolour'!

JC said...

Kavitha, The thought received in ‘my’ head were sent to ‘my’ newspapers also. And these believably being beyond the editors, and also ‘head eaters (he)’, based on ‘past experience’, ‘I’ give it here also for enjoyment! Of course, here too visitors generally appear to feel shy!

Kavitha, It’s upto you to decide…In so far as ‘I’ am concened, ‘I’ am inspired by the ‘wise ancients’ – to remain detached while maintaining attachment…
’I’ try to follow it as far as it’s possible. Krishna also says to the effect that once a soul has entered the ‘Time cycle’, there is no escape – it has to perform all the three types of actions. And, while peforming these the ‘wise’ do not get attached with those. It is something that was generally expressed as, “Neki kar kuvain mein dal.” That is, do good & forget…

God is ‘0’ or Formless (circular path, or surface of earth), but He Himself located at the unapproachable centre (of earth, where Ma Kali that is Raktmber Krishna resides!)…Man is represented by ‘8’ or one zero above another, representing the ‘conception’ and ‘governor’ vessels, the body and the head - the centre of which is the reflection of the centre of earth, or its essence. The figure ‘8’ when laid horizontal (when man sleeps) represents ‘infinity’ or the ‘anant’ – Hari (Head, or Moon representing ‘soul’, another form of Kali or Sati the consort of Shiva) & Hara (body, or earth) both, that is Ardhanarishwar Shiva!

JC said...

Yeserday happened to be St. Valentine day, which apparently irritates the ‘present day Shiv Sainiks’, the soldiers of Shiva the Bhootnath who had apparently turned Kamdev into ashes when for the sake of continuity of life on earth he disturbed Shiva the Yogeshwar through Rati the messenger of love! Of course, ‘Shiv Sainiks’ did create some trouble here and there in ‘India’, and an island in Indonesia also witnessed tremors or Shiva’s dance…

Of course, NASIK, [derived from ‘nasika’, meaning nose that is also used as a symbol of status in ‘India’, and the opposite reading KISAN or farmers who have been highlighted for some time due to ‘suicides’ being committed by them in certain states in ‘India’ for some time now], and also in some other towns in Maharasahtra for a few days before this had already witnessed disturbance in the minds of the ‘bhootas’ or ‘ghosts’ and followers of Shiva the Bhootnath…

The day apparently coincided with the day when Bhisma Pitamaha the eighth and only surviving son of Mother Ganga – coincidentally or accidentally or by design a copy or image of ‘bhagyawan’ or lucky eighth son, Krishna, of mother Devki - achieved ‘moksha’ thanks to Mother Ganga water, provided by Arjuna in Kurkshetra, located in the Yamuna valley and the battle field of ‘Mahabharat’, that is, literally the ‘Great India’ or perhaps the globe, when Krishna Himself also was present as the fast friend of Pandavas!

Natkhat Nandlal or Krishna the mischievous representative of Vishnu (25% to 50% only evolved during Dwaperyuga) also claims to illuminate Sun and Moon both – perhaps as the representative of the Centre of our Milky Way Galaxy, which is indicated to represent the centre of our planet earth that was therefore shown as the centre of our universe by the believably ‘foolish Hindus’, seen through the eyes of the ‘west’ believably ruled by imperfect or still evolving ‘Neelamber Krishna’ during Dwaperyuga!

Hindu Mythology thus isn’t easy to decode by the majority of the ‘bhootas’ of Shiva that we all human beings are! And in the ‘present day’ human administrative systems, in the various apparent innumerable countries, it is the majority – or ‘foolish heads’, as per Mira Bai - that rules!

In minimum words, the universe is indicated as illusory (like projection of Hollywood/ Bollywood/ Lolywood, and so on the Woods where babies find themselves among wolves, instead of its evolved form – DOG the faithful servant of man, just as man was expected to be loyal to his master whose unknown purpose he is expected to serve! The 'present' or Kaliyuga however is literally the ‘DARK AGE’…

JC said...

Victor Hugo reportedly said (to teh effect), “We all are lying in the gutters/ But some of us are looking at the stars.”

And, ‘scientists’ have apparently discovered the ‘youngest ever galaxy’, which ‘present day’ astronomers in the ‘west’ claim was formed 700 million years after our universe began and is thus 13 billion years old…

Whereas, in the ‘east’, in the ‘past’ when ‘perfection’ was apparently achieved by the most evolved Krishna as ‘Peetamber Krishna’, literally ‘the one who wore Yellow garments’, believably representing the Guru or the superior most among the ‘devtas’ or lucky immortal Heavenly Bodies, the universe is unborn and unending – lying within the head of Nadbindu, reflected by apparent thoughts in human heads as His model, graphivcaly as 'dreams'!

JC said...

One, however regularly, needs to be reminded by self, or by apparent others, from time to time that the animal brain is a super computer that functions on analogy. And, letters and numerals are 'alphanumeric symbols' used to communicate one’s thoughts that rise to the heart or the head, the two most vital organs recognized by the ‘present day man’, (out of ‘8’, reflected by eight-legged spider/ ‘ashtbhujadhari’ or eight-handed Durga, both marvellous ‘WEB SPINNERS’!)…

Man, however, by a grand 'design' was believed as the most foolish head of the animal world in Kaliyuga as per the ‘advanced Yogis’ who attempted to reach the ‘0’ thought stage, or perfection achieved in SATYUGA – in order to tune with the Formless Creator…called ‘merger of the soul with supreme soul’…

JC said...

However, as per available indications, even the ‘Wisest of wise Yogis’ couldn’t ever apparently come to know Him & His Purpose, and they therefore, called Him as unborn and unending, or left the search by saying, “Shivoham,” that is, “I am Shiva.” And, then because of the 'papi pate' or the hunger for food that however gets consumed unendingly by 'jathragni' or the fire that is acid in the stomach in the 'solar plexus' or 'Manipuraka Chakra' in the middle of the body get pulled down fianlly to meet the Mooladhar Chakra' the basic essence of planet Mars, rpresenting Ganesha/ Hanuman/ Bhima/ '0'...at differnt times...

JC said...

The ‘poverty line’ is the term to indicate the datum line below which a certain percentage of population in the country is indicated as ‘poor’, that is, they aren’t able to receive a certain calories of food believably needed for sustenance of the physical human body. And, even among them there obviously exists a hierarchy...

Despite the sad state of the poors in ‘India’, common words, in different languages spoken in ‘India’, sometimes result in funny situations. For example, in terms of churning of milk, for production of cream, perhaps the poor category symbolically also gets represented by the residual milk called ‘more’ in Tamil language, as ‘I’ learnt indirectly when ‘I’ wanted some ‘more’ rice (in English) in a South Indian restaurant in Rourkela, and ‘I’ heard some South Indian diners using this word, and was served ‘chhachh’ as it is called in North India! ‘I’ had then to order for ‘chor’, the word meaning ‘thief’ in Hindi!

JC said...

As ‘I’ had earlier also indicated elsewhere, earth can be seen to represent of reflect various institutions, viz. a school, a hospital, a mentl asylum, a prison, and so on. For soul is sometimes referred as a prisoner of the body and the body as the prisoner of earth, and each and every being. right from the day it is born, starts getting educating though various agencies acting as teachers – with its mother as the primary one for a human child believably develops 50% IQ in the first 5 years itself. Thus the word ‘Sikh’ a ‘religioius sect’ sect derived from ‘Hindus’ (the word perhaps derived from Indu the moon, in Sanskrit language) is derived from ‘shisya’ that is ‘student’…And, Krishna, believably being close to Yogeshwar Shiva the Supreme Knowledge, says that all wrong action result from lack of knowledge. And hence the purpose of man on earth is only to know the God without form, and also the Gods with forms…

JC said...

Another reaction to an article in my nespaper by 'me'...

Go, Take Asylum!
Where?
When earth itself is a mental asylum
For erratic souls entrapped in animal forms
Particularly in human forms
Arrested here perhaps for correction
And thus letting God rest in peace
While enjoying in His Yognidra
The drama at different times
The grand variety of madness!

JC said...

The city dwellers in ‘India’ earlier used to enjoy at the cost of the illiterate villagers, because they were simple, believably like Bholanath Shiva and therefore got easily fooled due to ignorance of the crooked world!
But, gradually even when they weren’t literates, with passage of time, the villagers also got educated by personal experiences, and they too then were sometimes seen to fool even some of the believably clever literate city dwellers! Most of the times it was the lure of the yellow metal that has fooled man since time immemorial, gold, when some other relatively much cheaper yellow metal, such as brass, was passed off as gold at rates much lower than the prevalent market rates!
Thus if any given individual in some part of the world gets a thought in his head to fool another who lacks overall knowledge of the crooked world, perhaps one can imagine how the being who is called Supreme Knowledge could perhaps have been similarly fooling all – maybe only for sadistic pleasure as some people appear to do!

‘I’ had visited reportedly 234 feet high Qutab Minar, located in New Delhi, the first time when ‘I’ was a small school student.

I had not heard of Einstein by then. However, as ‘I’ observed its top, it had looked relatively very high to ‘me’ then and thus it was some sort of a disappointment when still in school ‘I’ revisited it the second time (and a few times after that also) – for it appeared smaller because now my eye level also had risen higher from the ground and thus ‘I’ didn’t have to tilt my head more to see its top! Of course, from the top all objects and persons appeared smaller both times…but one could have a panaromic view of Delhi with a sense of excitement and achievement!

To get to the top, one had however to climb along the dark spiraling 378 numbers tiring steps that grew smaller as one moved up to the fifth floor due to the taper – sunlight was seen at each floor level when one could come out for some time…During subsequent visits, however, due to certain accidents and growing tilt in the tower, access to the top level was prohibited by the concerned authorities…

Now, ‘I’ can visualize the spiraling steps with the help of the believable shape of the chromosome and also perhaps similarly the rise of energy within human structure when ‘Kundalini’ gets activated – to perhaps different levels in different individuals during different Yugas. Only a few perhaps permitted to reach the top at timews other than Satyuga!

It was in the year 1960, when after the end of our ‘educational tour’ from our college, some students visited Chennai also when the city was called Madras...renamed as it was called thus in the 'past'...

The local person who took us around the then Chennai beaches etc., as it was a novelty then, the concerned authorities in LIC allowed visitors to climb up - by the newly installed lift on payment - to the roof of the then tallest building to have a panaromic view of Chennai (Madras) city!

God is similarly believed to grant ‘moksha’ in one go to the ‘elevated souls’ - irrespective of one’s apparent physical handicap even!

JC said...

Fusion or Yoga of “Travelling is education”, and, “Rolling stone gathers no moss” explains why Saraswati the Goddess of knowledge and Lakshami the Goddess of wealth are generally believed by average intelligent persons to possess opposite characteristics!
However, one could perhaps have been right in thinking so but for Yoga that is Ganesha acting as the link! For example, in human form, ‘most ‘Hindus by thought’ know that Krishna and Durga both are indicated to be represented symbolically by the numeral ‘8’ that is formed of two ‘big zeros’ – virtually standing on a point at its base or ‘moola’, with another point touching the ‘sky’ virtually receiving light from thousands (‘sahasra’) of stars! And, It has one common, believably insignificant, point or absolute ‘zero’ or ‘nothing’ that links both ‘big zeros’ that represent the lower human body that holds the majority of the vital organs; and the very important property (vip), the head that holds the brain! Both vessels however are linked by the neck that - according to Yogis - houses the essence of planet Venus, or Shukracharya the Guru of Rakshashas, the’mayavi’ demons of Hindu Mythology as the cause or instrument of illusion in which the base and the head also play important roles!

For 'equality' - between all organs within an individual - one needs to make the numeral '8' horizontal, merged with the dust on the surface of earth, and one sees symbolic representation of 'infinity' the unending (and that's how an instrmentalist holds the properly tuned Saraswati Veena and many other stringed instruments too for a harmonious orchestra, with Vishnu -represented by the ringed planet Saturn!)!

JC said...

Of course, there is also an old saying to the effect that if you play the veena for a buffalo, it remains unaffected and continues to chew the cud (generally seated on a muddy ground)!

But, a buffalo being ‘krishna’ or dark and Krishna believably is mischievous, maybe the animal is ‘wisely' copying the lotus flower that is generally cited by 'wise' as an example of how man should live on earth – unconcerned of one’s surrounding - merely as a spectator surrendered in Krishna (with firm faith in the evolved ‘Peetamber’) like a parachutist who sails down, or like a 'bungee jumper', for as per wise ancients time also believably moves downwards!

JC said...

Hindus also believed that God can appear in any form. It was based on believable realisation of Yogis that God the apparent creator of illusion or ‘maya’ is Formless and all physical forms are illusory models or images of the one and only Supreme Being…the (bad or negative) characteristics of the images was apparently related with ‘rakshashas’ or demons the ‘selfish pesons’, whereas ‘devtas’ meant the ‘selfless persons’…

In humans, the inability to reach the ‘Absolute Truth’ was expressed as on account of ‘design’, whereby animals were intentionally provided inefficient physical senses to varying degrees from one person to another in order to reflect hierarchy and various ‘Truths’ that in fact were ‘Untruths’. One believably needed the ‘Sixth sense’, or activation of ‘mind’s eye’ to overcome ‘maya’!

‘Maya’ in the ‘present day’ context could perhaps be seen created by the controlversy by a film on ‘Akbar the Great’ even before it was released Friday last, but not all over India, especially in Rajasthan the state of Rajputs because of the apparent ‘untruth’– Akbar’s ‘Hindu’ wife being named as ‘Jodha Bai’ and some rational souls therefore quoting Shakespeare’s popular line, “What is there in a name…”!

The dormant 6th sense brings to my mind the film ‘Sixth Sense’ ‘I’ saw some years ago. It is an interesting story about an especial boy, with extra sensory perception (ESP) who, therefore, could see ghosts and communicate with them!

Yogis also similarly believably communicated with the one and only Formless (called Bhootnath Shiva) in some isolated location, perhaps in some Himalayan cave far away from the noise made by the ‘civilized’ people (as in rallies and protests leading to destruction, as in the ‘present’ by ‘unruly mobs’!) to tune their mind with the believable source of the noise or ‘Big Bang’ the ‘Brahmanad’ used for creation of the illusory universe by ‘Nadbindu’!

And also, with the above-cited in mind, ‘I’ recalled ‘my’ journey with my brother’s family to Agra, for attending in his place a relative’s personal work - in the car that belonged to his young son who was found dead at its steering wheel a few days ago only!
During this journey, ‘I’ had the opportunity to also visit Fatehpur Sikri, the capital city once established by Akbar close to UP’s border with Rajasthan, for his Hindu wife belonged to that state. And, on the return journey, visit Krishna’s Banke Bibari and ISKCON Temples located in Mathura that ‘I’ visited for the first time, although a few times ‘I’ had earlier visited Taj Mahal at Agra and hadn’t stopped at Mathura!

On our journey to Agra, throughout ‘I’ had in my mind the thought of the soul of the young relative, reportedly a health conscious budding entrepreneur who had met with an untimely death on account of absolutely unexpected heart attack while driving back home from work, and thus found by the roadside with his head resting on the steering. It was an unbelievable and a very shocking experience to the parents and to his small family itself.

On return to Delhi via Mathura, ‘I’ wondered if it was possible that ‘I’ had merely acted as a medium - the departed soul’s eyes to visit Mathura and have darshan of Krishna’s idol – just as ‘I’ had visited Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati because of my wife, for normally ‘I’ did not visit temples on ‘my’ own!? For, ‘I’ also recalled that ‘I’ had perhaps similarly acted as a young boy, of under 10 years of age, for my uncle’s the then recently departed soul when ‘I’ unexpectedly saw Mahatma Gandhi from a close range a few months before the Mahatma got assassinated!

On review of the above comment, ‘I’ felt perhaps a clarification is needed.

My uncle, who used to live in our home-town, died a few days before Mahatma Gandhi died, and it is believed by the ‘wise ancients’ that certain ‘elevated souls’ become aware of the likely end of their mortal form within six months of the actual apparent event.

And, as ‘I’ had earlier also elsewhere narrated, by a strange phenomenon ‘I’ happened to one fine morning see Mahatma Gandhi from a very close range…and act as his remote eye - like Sanjaya of Dwaperyuga, for Dhritrashtra!

Each human being has the ESP, but it doesn’t get manifested to equal level in all humans uniformly. However, Yogis apparently realized that through regular Yogic exercises in three axes; physical, mental and spiritual, some Yogis apparently achieved certain special characteristic properties over some time, such as telepathy or reading of the mind of another person, or planting certain thoughts in the minds of some relatively ‘inferior souls’ without apparent use of sound that is within the range of average human perception.
As a personal example that I have narrated earlier in some other comment also, many years ago ‘I’ was surprised when a small girl who lived in the neighbourhood, 3-4 year old in age, happened to meet me, as ‘I’ stepped out of my house, and said ‘Sh’ for ‘shalgam’. As a response to it to rhyme with ‘shalgam’, ‘I’ instantly thought in my own mind, ‘ba’ for ‘balgam’ without actualluy uttering it. ‘I’ was virtually shocked when she responded, “Ba is for Batakh (goose in English)!”
‘I’ wondered then who out of the two of us had greater ESP? Whether ‘I’ was able to implant the words in her brain, or was she a relatively more eleved souls and, therefore, she could read my mind? But, as a backgrond,'I' was also aware tht 'I' had earlier heard the apparent vloce of the 'unseen', first in Guwahati and later also in New Delhi - although only once!

In Guwahati ‘I’ had come across another ‘tantrik’ through a common acquaintance who was instrumental in our meeting, for it is a common practice in ‘India’ that if one, for example, like my wife suffering from Rheumtoid Arthritis suffers from some chronic ailment, everyone of one’s well wisher would advise one some form of treatment one hasn’t already tried!
From him ‘I’ learnt how he was apparently born in the same house in one room when his grandfather, a renowned tantrik in Old Sadiya Town in Upper Assam in his days, died in another room. Thus claiming that his body housed his own grandfther’s soul! He then narrated how he later underwent rituals related with tantricism in some less frequented crematorium in some godforsaken village for many nights as prescribed. And thus he informed me that he had controlled the soul of a poor woman who had died young and her body was left by the poor relatives without proper rites performed. According to him the soul informs him about the concerned whosoever seeks his advice. According to him as the soul speaks very rapidly, the tantrik gets trained to know what it says...

[From another knowledgeable person, ‘I’ also learnt the role of mustard seeds in control of the ‘inferior soul’ in a football bladder covered with mustard seeds and kept within a container made from metal Tin. It helped ‘me’ also recall mustard seeds also commonly used in ‘India’, for our mother also used to sometimes take mustard seeds in her hand and after making her hand revolve over someone’s head, who appeared a bit disturbed after returning home, and let go og the seeds in water!]…

He also claimed that he had a good knowledge of Astrology. Therefore, ‘I’ told him to advise gemstones if he could, for ‘I’ wasn’t game for the ‘spiritual treatment’…

He advised some gemstones, which however apparently didn’t work. But, in this process, in a way, during ‘my’ spare time it later formed a link to attempt some in-depth study in human behaviour and its relation with Astronomy, that perhaps had led the ‘wise ancients’ to its application in Astrology and Palmistry etc…

Now, ‘I’ can perhaps visualize why mustard seeds were thrown into water - apparently for driving away any ‘evil spirit’ that believably could possess one - by all mothers, perhaps all over ‘India’ in the ‘past’, for water is now known as the “universal solvent” by ‘scientists’, the 'modern seekers of Truth’...

Thus ashes resulting from burning of the mortal remains of humans by 'Hindus' were preferably immersed in ‘Mother Ganga’ water, and if it’s not possible, in any flowing river water (for continuity of 'life'), for the source of all waters on earth believably is MOON the ‘Chandrama’ or the Mother of mothers, whose essence is believably housed in human head, that is, believably the source of knowledge reflected by the IQ + EQ, and any other Qs that could come to human head, such as chEQ (for million dollars)!

As per realisation after in-depth study enlightened souls in the 'present', E = mxCxC, where E is energy produced, m is the original mass of the matter that is converted into energy, and C is the velocity of light, as realized by 'scientists' as the relationship between energy and matter…and Hindus believed all physical forms as symbolic representation of energy.

For example, they represented the energy at the centre of the planet earth, called Kali, meaning black. It was also cited as residing in the heart of Shiva, and thereby indicating physical earth as Shiva, the believable Formless, Omnipotent and Omnipresent God’s ‘true image’ or model of the entire universe! Also, man was similarly believed to be the image of the universe and thus indirect models of Shiva that is earth, but reflecting the apparent grand variety in all aspects as seen in ‘Nature’!

The destructive energy or Ma Kali was also graphically represented as the image of a fearful Black Goddess having her tongue protruding out from her mouth, and was painted red, ‘a sign of danger’, which also could be seen as a volcano’s red coloured flame protruding out of the mouth of an ‘active volcano’...and the Himalayan region is realized as the most earthquake prone area in 'India' and has the red molten magma relatively closer under it, while Shiva & Parvati, the dughter of Himalaya and Shiva's second wife, after the death of 'Sati' (tht was Kali when Shiva was 'Ardhanarishwar and Moon was yet to evolve from earth), are believably seated on Mount Kailash and enjoying the aerial view of 'India' in their mind's eye perhaps!
