My thoughts on Khajuraho

Lost in a small village in Madhya Pradesh are a series of 20 temples profusely carved, gigantic and dominating the otherwise insignificant countryside.

And we seem to have moralistic problems with it!!

Our society is known for its hypocrisy. The world's largest demo'crazy' boasting of the maximum population on this earth ironically blames Khajuraho for its erotic sculptures! Where did our babies come from?

The strange thing is these sculptures that Khajuraho is apparently so famous for are found in most of other Indian temples as well, we just didn't bother to look. Even stranger is the fact that we need to hunt them down in the jungle of profusely carved stone to spot them out and tell everyone, I went to Khajuraho!

So, the average tourist goes to Khajuraho, not with beauty or spiritualism in his/her mind to appreciate the grandeur of 20 temples along the landscape but to hunt down minute erotic sculptures... how perverted are they?

Is Khajuraho really x-rated as people claim it to be? Are we even trying to find out why they are there in the first place and appreciate our ancient society for it?

The truth behind erotica as researched by Art Historian Devangana Desai is this. India was known to have very learned men who knew more than one science. They were Tantriks. They knew the science of astrology, architecture and ritual. They advised kings over the construction of these great temples all over the subcontinent, but primarily around northeast India where they flourished the most. They are also known to have practiced ritual rather indigestible to think of today.

Being initiated into Tantricism is/was not the simplest thing. One needed a guru for the initiation and there after ritual practice/sadhana is/was a must. This sadhana involved a change of lifestyle which meant it was not just about how to worship and faith but also about how to live - eat, conduct yourself, practice the art of love making etc, everything offered to the Gods in complete surrender. Ritual went deep down into understanding of mystical diagrams and worship of powers unknown to us like those of the Mother Goddess, Lord Shiva, the yoginis etc. Everything is very interconnected, the ritual practices might have ceased to exist but the science continues to live.

So when one approaches these extremely lavish Tantrik temples, one needs to be initiated to even understand them. The moralistically infamous temples hide deeper secrets of faith within diagrams of ritual, potent in power but rather simple to look at - delightful erotica to the uninitiated i.e. you and me. These erotic sculptures are very geometric, fit within a square with imaginary lines meeting at strategic points which house powers to protect these temples from evil forces unknown to you and me.

The result - erotica, because that is what we see and we don't have the patience to find out more. Take trouble, dig for information and understand the subtlety of Hinduism before giving judgment. Hinduism runs deeper than erotica, and the people then didn't pull up temples to quench our thirst for erotica.

Kavitha, I liked hearing raga Hamsadhwani on flute played in the background, reminding me of hebelief about 'Krishna' and ‘dhwani’ or sound produced by His Flute that reportedly mesmerised the entire galaxy…

Historians, as ‘specialists in story writing’, while making attempt to go into the remote ‘past’ – apparently with whatever authentic data they could lay their hands on - tell us that India, perhaps once upon a time, was a ‘super power’, perhaps as a wild guess like the USA in the ‘present’…That is to say that India perhaps ruled over the whole globe or earth for long…till the end of the 6th century B.C, when the ‘Vedic Era’ came to an end. It then apparently marked the rise of Buddhism and Jainism in India that is ‘Bharat’, with reduced boundary limits…

And, ‘Hindus’, that is, the believers of ‘Sanatan Dharma’, or theoretically the ones who were supposed to maintain the ancient practice of belief in the Creator of the apparent physical universe as Formless, or the ‘Absolute Truth’, etc. then became history…

Perhaps the phenomenon found its reflection – ‘like a flash in the pan’ - in ‘Hindu’ Bhartiya Janta Party’s ‘coming to power’, in the name of Lord Rama (a model of Sun), for a very short period towards the apparent fag-end of Kaliyuga as Brahma’s (Sun’s) day approaches yet another end…with glaciers and snow in the Arctic region melts rapidly…perhaps to wash the ‘stage’!

‘Hindu Philosophy’ is a subject for ‘Ph D students’ (to be pursued by ‘sanyasis’, who have crossed successfully, perhaps even with 33% marks the three junior stages before that!) and the role of the ‘west’ is to create ‘vighna’ or disturbance in the study as part of the test to see if you remain unmoved under all circumstances (Vishwamitra was tested by Menaka & Rambha) and hence the importance of Ganesha, the ‘vighna harta’…

Life being analogous, the whole apparently complex drama for average forgetful human being (Apsmara Purush) is about interaction with the composite earth and, particularly, with the animal life on earth’s surface that generally remains exposed to the ‘sky’ and with contents encompassed by it with which man also is obliged to remain attached during one life-term – like a prisoner in a man-made jail for correction till he/ she is 'judged' (refer thoughts of St Mathew) fit to join the main-stream…

The basic ‘Hindu’ thought therefore can be understood from the present day saying on land surveys, “Start from the whole to the part. And not from the part to the whole,” for it virtually states the basic ‘Hindu’ realization of the absolute truth of one Formless God (Nirakar Nadbindu) and the entire physical forms radiating from it and as characters in His dream…For, as part of a grand design, moving outwards from ‘the absolute truth’ or Nadbindu, in any one direction (say ‘erotica’), anyone is sure to get lost in infinity (space and time)... Imagine ‘our’ believably the perfect galaxy of stars continuing to revolve around its centre (where ‘Krishna’ that is ‘Black Hole’ is located) since time immemorial…and therefore how lucky we apparently are, for there exist innumerable other galaxies, perhaps inferior to ours and therefore any 'soul' likely to be sent to any other relatively inferior galaxy, perhaps for greater suffering in a long chain of relatively inferior forms!

The ‘wise’ characters apparently responsible for the Gita, considering the believably unending cycle of souls upwards or downwards, therefore, suggested ‘surrender in Krishna’ who alone could believably lead one to His Supreme Form, the four-handed Vishnu (represented by the symbol of ‘Swastika’)/ Shiva represented by His linga (cause of the ‘erotica’ as source of momentary pleasure in humans and not the desired ‘eternal bliss’ - which is a state of mind only!) as models of our taken for granted EARTH!

Krishna says he resides within everyone, but( because of the hierarchy), although any form could help you fulfil your desire, He needs to be approached directly (if one is interested in the 'Absolute truth' teh Supreme soul!)...

Sant Tulsidas, a character in the drama in the 16th cenury A.D. who popularized, in his creation Ramayana, the story of Lord Rama - believably a perfect model of an emperor in the Tretayuga the era of the range of 75%-50% efficiency achievable by humans - said to the effect that everyone sees (formless) God (in physical form) according to the ‘inclination’ of his mind…

Thus, the character named Rama, one of the sons of Dashratha, came to be stated as ‘Purushottam’ or the best among men, or believably the best human being among the ‘suryavanshi’ kings (literally belonging to the family of Sun, that is, as models of Sun or ‘expert’ archer). Whereas, in the Dwaperyuga, an era of achievable efficiency range in human form between 50% & 25%, a ‘lucky’ character named Krishna was generally accepted as the ‘Purushottam’ by ‘Hindus’….

Thus, the ‘Hindus’ apparently believed the natural design pattern of the Formless Creator represented through humans acting as models (His perfect reflection being Shiva, during Satyuga) - reflecting the occurrence of ‘other ‘natural’ events also that are related with time as part of a grand integrated design…and thus the so-called doership rested entirely upon the Formless only. It is only as part of the design that humans apparently continue to believe they are the controllers of their thoughts and the related actions based on those…The ‘wise’ ancients realized this phenomenon to occur on account of ‘Maya’ or illusion created by the Formless Supreme Being…needing to be realized by 'seekers'...

The ‘wisest among the wise ancients’ appear to have realized the Formless Creator to be an unique and simple Divine Person, Bholanath, and His ‘perfect’ model in physical form represented by our planet Earth (Gangadhar Shiva)!

The ancient astronomers indicated earth as the central primordial Heavenly Body, which for the common man’s information was depicted by androgynous God, Ardhanarishwar Shiva, who had Kashi, that is, Varanasi in the present, as His original abode on the banks of the sacred River Ganga. However, after death of His consort Sati, He remarried Her when she was reborn as an independent entity, Parvati the daughter of Himalaya (or moon in the sky), located at a distant location, i.e., the ‘sky-scraping’ Mount Kailash, which the couple in human form chose as their second and permanent abode and thus the beginning of 'erotica' in His mind
(and as ‘Adam’ in the mischievous ‘west’, in the ‘Eden Garden’, who although perfect, being bored alone was provided companionship of Eve, made out of Adam’s own rib!)...

The Formless Creator was realized as the unique force that pervades the entire universe, and as an all rounder in temperament as its natural characteristic property, which also gets reflected in the grand variery in all aspects of the physical universe and, particularly, in the composite planet earth - as its true likeness – formed of different layers of materials that reflect the apparently different characteristic properties of different members of our solar system, but remaining united because of gravitational force…

After apparent in-depth studies, the all rounder Yogis, that is, ‘siddhas’ or experts in all fields of human activity (and not specialists in a limited field when original churning was believably commenced) appear to have realized representation of (tilted) earth/ Shiva by ‘India’, imagined as a Divine Person who reclines in the Northwest-Southeast direction such that the panchatatvas jointly act to result in the eternal water-cycle in the form of Southwesterly monsoon, (with direction Northeast acting as the original ‘mooladhar’, where Sati’s genitals had reportedly fallen in the lower Himalayas and where Kamakhya Temple stands today, as a representative of essence of planet Mars/ Ganesha the vighnaharta or trouble-shooter), as the main source for production of food for sustenance of the constantly exploding human population and other life forms on earth – thanks to the essence of Venus or Shukracharya, the Guru of the demons, or mischievous (shaitan) Neelamber Krishana as the reincarnation of sudershanchakra-dhari Vishnu (Saturn/ satan) who controls the direction ‘west’, and Venus is responsible for the shukranu (semen/ eggs) in humans that, in their turn, are responsible for the so-called ‘erotica’…that was necessary to have a large numbers of specimens when the churning was apparently started, at the beginning of Kaliyuga, for reaching perfection at the end of Satyuga - through the constant process of elimination in four stages - in the form of Shiva/ evolved present day Earth that has remained immortal since perfection in material form was achieved in the long lost past by the perfect original Swayambhu Formless or the spiritual God that believably appeared on its own…

In the Gita, the wise characters reportedly stated on behalf of ‘Krishna’ – realizing all forms to be illusory images of mischievous or ‘natkhat Nandlal’, that is, Yogiraja, or the king of Yogis, Krishna Himself – that all wrong actions result from lack of (overall) knowledge…and that Krishna’s supreme form, (indirectly indicated as our very own earth as it was apparently realized also by Arjuna, another expert archer like Rama!), is the 'supreme knowledge'…

And, each human form, being His Own image, therefore, has the supreme knowledge recorded within the eight ‘chakras’ that believably exist within the composite body from tail-bone end to the head. But, unfortunately for the forgetful man, the information/ energy is distributed in these eight ‘chakras’ or ‘bandhas’ - locked up, like within the powerful jaws of a crocodile even the believably powerful most animal (in the form of an elephant) could be held, such that Lord Vishnu, believably as understood by ‘wise Hindus’, is ever waiting to come running to 'liberate the elephant', that is, the supreme knowledge to rise to the head of teh concerned – and Ganesha believably had an elephant’s head!

‘Hindus’ eventually, apparently, realized the ‘Absolute Truth’ of existence of the one and only Formless Creator (‘advait’) and the entire infinite universe, apparently physically filled with innumerable massive galaxies (their reflections apparent in the man-made giagantic ‘places of worship’/ twin-towers etc. the world over), as illusory – mere dream-like thoughts within the creator’s head who ever remains in a super conscious state - stated as ‘Yoganidra’ as it is associated with Lord Vishnu who believably ever remains reclined in the middle of the ‘milky ocean’ on Anantanaga (meaning, an ‘unending celestial serpent’)/ ‘Sheshsnaga’ (meaning, ‘the celestial serpent that alone remains’ – after ‘pralaya’)…

And, it is interesting to learn that ancient ‘Hindus’ reportedly were great astronomers/ mathematicians, and that it was ‘India’ that originally gave the numerals that (perhaps because of mischievous Krishna/ Satan or 'west') came to be popularly known as ‘Arabic numerals’! Which could perhaps be reconciled with the ‘present day’ belief in mind that the Homo sapiens all over the world today have common roots in Africa, whereas ancient ‘wise Hindus’ indicated the original root to lie in Kashi, still in ‘India’ (imagine with the analogous phenomenon of the growth of a banyan tree, that is associated with 'Biddhism', a religion of recent origin that had its original roots in ‘India’ and spread to other neighbouring countries while disappearing from the ‘present day truncated India’!

Also, reclining figure of numeral ‘8’ is used by mathematicians the world over to indicate infinity (reflecting reclining Krishna the friend of the Pandavas of Mahabharata, the lucky or 'bhagyawan' eighth son of Devki-Vasudeva who - unlike his seven siblings born before him that were killed immediately after they were born inside Kansa’s prison in Mathura - miraculously escaped from it, to eventually kill his maternal uncle Kansa that coincidentally sounds llike Kansas, USA!)…and Hindus have even the reclining idol of Hanuman installed near Sangam, that is the confluence of the two sacred Rivers, Ganga and Yamuna, near Prayag that is Allahabad and, similarly, one finds installed reclining figures of Buddha at various places…

And, it is only during sleep that human energy spent/ wasted in physical or mental actions during a day gets naturally recouped!

Coincidence?

Another name used for Shiva/ Earth (mithya jagat), Bhootnath, conveys the ‘science’ of ‘Maya’ that is illusion, which doesn’t need going into long statistics to know what it meant to the ancient ‘wise Hindus’- just a glance at the make-believe world of Cinema/ TV in India today should have normally been enough…

The entire population, particularly those who are ‘below the poverty line’ and who apparently ‘find it difficult to make both ends meet’, queue up to ‘see the first day first show’ of any ‘new’ film in which their popular actors/ worshipped as gods even in 'real life' appear!

And, ‘Devdas’ that was based on a classic – like History believabaly does – has already got repeated thrice with ‘new faces’ only and everytime has provided enough material for the media to make comparative analaysis for months, or years, and perhaps eternity!

And, a look at the number of channels that are ‘multiplying like babies’ - matching with ‘population explosion’ with apparent passage of time, and competing with each other to appear ‘technically’ better than the others (like 'purushottam') - makes it apparent how infectious the disease is that gets reflected in ‘real life’ also, with the apparent rise in the ‘crime graph’! And, it is evident that there is no escape from it – and one, therefore, must surrender to ‘Maya’. And perhaps God alone knows why one finds it difficult to ‘surrender in the Creator of Maya’ as advised in the ‘scriptures’!

The recently released ‘remake’ of ‘Sholay’ - apparently one of the most popular films produced within the last few decades ago - despite Big B who apparently has the believable ‘Midas’ touch’ and has acted as a copy of ‘Gabbar’ in it, doesn’t appear to have impressed the ‘common man’, as it is being reported by different TV channels/ printed media. And the subject is sure to be discussed, projecting various possible view-points for all times to come. Thus the ‘remake’ apparently is a ‘big flop’ despite publicity given to it - even through controversies - the outcome perhaps conforming to the saying, literally to the effect, “Had heard a loud throb of the heart (for long)/ When cut, only a drop of blood oozed out!”

It is interesting to point out that in the ‘classical fiction’, Sholay, although there were many dialogues that finds repetition in many ways in the media, the ‘truth’ of ‘real life’ had also got reflected in a line from the film that had then become quite popular, “It is Gabbar, who alone can save one from Gabbar!”

Kavitha, I am sure we the 'born Hindus' would eventually realize the hand of the mischievous and mysterious 'Yogis'
Krishna/ Vishnu/ Shiva/ Nirakar Nadbindu and so on (like Arjuna/ Pandavas)? And let the majority 'west' perform the typical 'carbon-copy-like' role of 'Dhritarashtra' (blind Kuruvanshi king in Dwaperyuga) and ban 'Yoga', or 'patent' it as a western thought! ;D)

In the Gita, Krishna in human form says he doesn’t rest even for a second, while it is believed that Vishnu, i.e., Krishna’s formless ‘boss’, ever remains in Yoganidra, that is, because of Maya it appears to be asleep while, in reality, it ever remains in a super conscious state, like a spectator/ witness who is aware of the ‘drama’ – virtually fooling every one of His creations!

And, as ‘I’ had pointed out elsewhere earlier also, Krishna’s supreme physical form, that is, the exterior surface of ‘our planet earth’, which although is ever changing in appearance with time, is relatively simpler and, therefore, called the Simple God, or ‘Bholanath’ - the immortal composite earth that represents the ‘yoga’ or union of essences of eight selected members of ‘our solar system’…as realized by the’wise ancients’…

It, however, itself being related with time and space zero, is quite complex, for it plays the triple role: Of ‘creation of purely temporary physical forms’, each as His Own model/ image; sustenance of each for a certain limited duration; and its ultimate dissolution at the predetermined time after it has had the opportunity to gain sufficient experience, which apparently only advanced Yogis, after ‘Tapasya’ or proper tutoring by selfless Guru(s) could predict in many possible ways – including God-given, or ‘natural’ faculty of ‘intution’ as part of a grand design…

We had seen how the whole concept of 'activation of kundalini' involves raising of total energy, through Yogic exercies/ natural rising of the locked up energy in seven 'chakras' to the 'head' as per some 'grand design'. And, that the head of planet earth could be imagined represented by the North Pole, i.e., the Arctic region, South Pole being indicated as the base where Vishnu positioned Himself in the form of a tortoise (Antactica)...

Now imagine a small four-sided room - with a window in each of its walls - exactly located over the North Pole (Latitude 90 degrees north): Would any of the windows open to either the 'East' or the 'West' direction?

Anonymous said...

The ‘Hindus’, therefore, appear to have considered North Pole as ‘heaven’ where 'liberated souls' believably returned to Nadbindu, their ‘origin as well as the goal’ – like a magnet exhibits higher magnetic power in its polar regions as it apparently pulls objects made from iron relatively more powerfully to those!

Legend has it that towards the end of Dwaperyuga, Yudhister, the then typical model of Bholanath/ simple God or earth alone reached ‘heaven’ in ‘Pushpak Vimana’, that is, an aeroplane that worked on 'thought power', and which changed hands from time to time between devtas and rakshashas whosoever was victorious between the Rama-like selfless and Ravana-like selfish in the continuous battles for supremacy between opposite forces in 'Nature' reflected also by humans as models of those forces...

The five Pandavas are believed to have been escorted by Dhamaraja or Yamraja the agent of death himself, in the form of a dog, due North through the present day Uttarakhand where, at a high altitude, the faithfuls say that even today the seven steps that lead to ‘heaven’ can be seen by a believer, and that Yudhister’s younger brothers lost their mortal forms near about that region, short of those steps…

The said aeroplane, the 'Pushpak Vimana', is believed to have been recovered towards the end of Tretayuga by Lord Rama after Ravana's death, for it had come in his possession earlier, and was used by him to bring the trio, Sita, Lakshamana and him, back from Lanka to his ancestral palace in Ayodhya - after he had successfully completed fourteen years of exile…

It is interesting to learn that the existence of extraordinary ‘thought power’ was realized by Yogis who had apparently withdrawn physically from active service to the isolation of, say, some caves in the Himalayas and elsewhere too, irrespective of their spatial location!

It is believed that ‘Elevated souls, or ‘Siddhas’ the all rounders with the poweres apparently achieved by tehm could walk on the surface of river water; disappear from one location to reappear at another remote location instantaneously, and so on…

‘Paramhansa Yogananda’ in his authobiography records that even as a child in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal, he was convinced that he was destined to become a Yogi. He felt he had some extraordinary ‘thought power’ and, to prove that, he cites as one of the examples a floating kite falling - against the direction of wind - into the balcony where he was located when he had wished it to happen so, while under normal conditions it was virtually impossible!

Perhaps realizing ‘eternal bliss’ as a state of mind and the physical universe/ world as a dream within the head of the Formless Creator - as believably realized by ancient ‘Hindu’ Yogis – a poet expressed the so-called ’truth’ in the saying, to the effect, “A poet reaches the place where even the sun can’t!”

This is just convey greetings to all on KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI, THE ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ OF SHRI KRISHNA the Yogiraja on 9/4!!! May He grant peace to all 'His images' on this happy occasion!!!

The ‘born Hindus’ today are made to appear foolish through the eyes of the ‘material west’ and in their own eyes too, because they are unable to explain the background of the ritualistic practices - thanks to mischievous ‘Krishna’, the Centre of our Galaxy/ planet Jupiter/ the hero of the masses at the end of Dwaperyuga in human form, and so on, or even a man-made centrifuge that separates cream from the milk - like our solar system lies towards teh outer periphery of our galaxy!

Yogiraja Krishna in the Gita also says that He has made only two types of men (as His own images): devtas (selfless) and rakshashas (selfish), and their wrong actions result from lack of (overall) knowledge (because of Maya, and also because of the characteristic property of time)…

‘Wise’ ancient ‘Hindus’, realizing all forms to be static despite their apparent dynamism, advised worship of images of idols as symbolic representation of the Formless Creator, facing either North, where in the night sky Dhruva Tara or Polar Star as the fixed star is seen, or face the East, where the dynamic Sun appears to rise each morning, after apparently setting in the west…

However, what a ‘common man’, with limited vision (as part of a grand design), cannot appreciate is that the ancient ‘wise Hindus’ have already done in-depth studies in the past, much more than what the ‘scientists’ apparently have done so far in the ‘present’. And that they apparently realized that at a certain point of time, all life forms reportedly get frozen when it is ‘Brahma’s night’ - believably of an equal duration to His day of over 4 billion years…to start once again from the stage where those were last frozen…

Anonymous said...

In so far as the believable ‘drama’ in human life is concerned, the mechanism of it is apparently being researched by certain paramedics in the ‘present’ too.

The Reader’s Digest had once brought out many such stories in the article ‘Life after life,’ where certain ‘real life’ incidents were narrated, indicating some sort of veracity in the ancient ‘Hindu’ belief of human form to consist of some kind of union of body and soul…

In one such story, a patient of appendicitis, while undergoing surgery, reportedly became ‘clinically dead’ as his heart stopped beating. The surgeon then resorted to another operation to expose the heart to give it a massage. His heartbeat returned after 4 minutes - thus theoretically he had remained dead for 4 minutes…

The ‘truth’ of what apparently happened during those 4 minutes came out only when some researcher approached the concerned patient later when he was recovering. He told him in minutest possible details how he apparently had floated out of his own body and from the ceiling level saw what all procedure was carried out to bring him back to life once again!

As the patient hadn’t studied medicine, the doctors couldn’t say how he could describe the procedure in such clear details unless he had seen it himself - when he was, in fact, apparently been dead!

Maybe, Dr Anilji would be in a better position to throw some more light on the stage at which the said research stands today…

It’s well known that ‘scientists’ haven’t been able to know much about the secrets of ‘Creation’ in the ‘present’ (believed to be Kaliyuga that was the beginning of ‘churning’, started by ‘Krishna’ with many 'imperfect' images of His Own, to achieve perfection in the singular physical form of our planet Earth/ Shiva as the true image or model of the Formless Creator at the end of Satyuga) while the drama is believably being reviewed by Formless Shiva or Bhootnath that had apparently become known to much greater depth to the Yogis in the past – believably thanks to ‘time’ and repetition of History or events related with time that is cyclic in nature, with decreasing amplitude with the passage of time as He sees the original record of his imperfect past backwards, in the reverse order - from Satyuga to Kaliyuga!

He is obviously wanting to know Himself in His spiritual original form and hence the advice to humans, His own images, to know the ‘true self’!

As Kavitha has mentioned about northeast India and advancement in ‘Tantricism’ or the art of ‘black magic’, as it was popularly called in relation with Assam/ Bengal because of Goddess Kali (believably a destructive force)/ Kamakhya (the fulfiller of human desires), I too had the opportunity to experience some strange phenomena during my relatively short stay in that region for a few years…which I have cited elsewhere earlier also…

The 'Hindus' indicated a parallel world of souls or ‘bhoot’ similar to the apparent animal world to exist and exploitation of these in northeast India in the apparent evolved 'past', for it is believably the direction under the control of Ganesha (Satyuga)/ Hanuman (Tretayuga) as the two trouble shooters housed at the 'mooladhar' who believably have the blessings of both Ma Kali (black colour that is associated with spirits) as well as Gouri (associated with physical world and the white colour)... It was believed that the whole drama is the handiwork of these two energy forms…

‘Scientists’ also have realized ‘Black Hole’ as an alternative source of super energy compared to the relatively inferior solar energy that we exploit today! And, similarly, ‘Hindus’ appear to have found out ways to tap the pres4ntly unknown 'black' energy through 'Tantric' exercises performed in the night (when the mysterious moon rules the sky in the absence of Sun) in the crematoriums!

One finds even today certain ‘Aghoris’ ritually perform certain exercises in some unattended crematoriums, but perhaps without the knowledge of the ‘correct procedure’ because of the believable characteristic property of time in terms of Yuga, Kaliyuga believably being an 'imperfect era'…They are not much favoured though (perhaps only by illiterate villagers today, which represents the remotest and imperfect most past in the life of the Creator), as also expressed in the saying, “Neem Hakeem Khatraye Jaan,” that is, “(Treatment by) an imperfect doctor could be a risk to (one’s) life.” Hence, "surrender in Krishna advised" in the Gita...

It was my wife’s nagging Rheumatoid Arthritis that became an excuse for my coming in contact with certain Tantrics - thanks to some well wishers - after certain allopaths had tried their hands in the 'trial and eror game' that had led to the apparent further deterioration of her physical condition due to side effects of the treatment, and also in my getting educated that the system of medicine had lot more to learn yet…

The first tantric, I came in contact with, couldn’t cure her, but he surprised me by correctly predicting immediately after the very first look at my face my father’s then imminent heart attack about 15 days in advance – and he was meeting me for the first time! Of course, he couldn’t pin-point that it was my father and said that it was some ‘family member’. I couldn’t have guessed it could be my father who was then located in my home-town thousands of kilometer away in the 'Kurmanchal' region of the Himalayas – and the tantric had told me that he had been trained by some Jogis from my region! What a roundabout connection! And Krishna says to the effect that the entire ‘Nature’ is tied to Him, like beads in a garland are attached to the common thread!

Anonymous said...

The area of influence then appeared to enlarge further to the Middle East even, and the plot appeared to be much more intricate from whatever I learnt from my father after he had returned to his residence in Delhi duly cured and I luckily happened to visit him there…

He told me that just when he was lying in a semi-conscious condition after the heart attack, he received my letter with the enclosed ‘prasad’ that I had sent after I had visited Kamakhya Temple at Gauhati, having earlier resisted the visit to the temple for almost five months despite persistent requests by my wife…

He put a little of that sweet in his mouth and told the relatives, who by then had collected around his bed, that as he had received ‘prasad’ from Ma Kamakhya, he wouldn’t die!

Fortunately for him, that day a cardiologist who along with his cardiologist wife had earlier worked in a big hospital in New Delhi, had after that gone to Iraq and had returned to practice in their own Kumaon region because of Iraq-Iran war in the eighties, and luckily happened to be present in our town that day...

Fortunately the prescribed medicine also became immediately available, which led to his quick recovery…

The above incident narrated in very brief, and many other mysterious happenings in the northeast region set me to wonder if – for some reason not known to me – the Formless had presented a trailer-like glimpse into its working, utilizing various forms as media, for my contemplation...if so, why?

When one develops an intimate loving relationship with the divine Being, it is like physical lovemaking. Yet, the experience of it far surpasses the physical act but resembles it in many ways. I think the Beloved purposely made sex to resemble the ecstasy a lover has for God that we all may know the promise for those that dwell in His wondrous, loving energies. In reality, there is no difference between the two-- only in degrees of magnitude.

Perhaps, our ancestors knew these things when they built these temples and now that we stand so many generations removed, we have forgotten the secrets of intimacy with God. I have experienced some of these things and write about them on a website. I will not give the address here but if you search for Radha, Krishna, madhurya bhava, you may find this knowledge available to those seeking Him.
